Ok Just wanted to get everyones attention, as you can see from the topic I'm in the process of making a new mod, some people may be able to guess what its based on from this, others will just have to keep guessing. Im not gonna give too many details at the moment as its still fairly early on in development(I only started on it last night). All I'm sayin at the moment is that there is 18 new factions, there will be a whole range of new units, and if all goes as planned a whole new style of play for the game.
Just wanted to see who's interested in playing it. I will give some more details when I have them. So please post if your intered, I may need some help here and there so if anyone would like to volunteer let me know

Are these the MTW factions set in Dark/Medieval Ages?
Because if Yes, than my guess is Great Moravian Empire.
Are you going to mod this country?

No sorry its not that, basically I plan to do a fictional mod based on a series of books written by David Gemmell, if anyone here has read them maybe they know what im talking about. I know there are some other mods around based on fictional stories eg LOTR, but mine is different as all the factions are human, there is no orc or trolls, to me that just is TW, where this is different is that im going to try and make all the factions act the way they do in the books, with each faction having different units and and tactics, I will explain more when i have time, but I think if i can do half of what im planning this should make TW a bit different to play. anyways if anyone knows the books, they will see what im getting at, if you dont check out drenai.com its a page about the series, it might explain a few things for those interested
I am a fan of Druss .... so count on me

David Gemmells' books are awsome
The man possesses an impressive understanding of human nature , and interestingly would fit quite comfortably into one of his fictional worlds {apparantly he is a 6'4" , 240lb ex-bouncer} . That is what makes his characters so engrossing ... they are grounded very much in reallity {there are people like those he writes about ; I have heard he based many of his characters on people he knew : John Shannow for example , I have been given to understand , was based on a very intense friend of his who ended up in a mental institution} .
Ambitious though intreiging choice for a mod I will be too busy to be of real assistance , but I wish you success {I would like to play it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif} and might get some usefull suggestions pop into my mind which I would naturally avail you . Good luck .

Im glad to see some people inntersted, Like most of you I love Gemmell's books, although ive really only read the drenai series and the rigante. id be grateful for any help i could get, i started on it on the weekend, I didnt realise how big a job i had taken on but i think with some help i can get somewhere with this. So far ive done re-done the names file so that all the factions i want in the game are represented, this was the easy part. Ive then reassigned provinces,to basically what i want(i really wanna do a new map for it but dont have the tools or knowledhe to do it, so if anyone knows how to let me know).
So far the factions i have are Drenai, Vagria, Gothir, Ventria, Lentria, Chiatze, Cadia, Naashan, Kydor, Sathuli, and four of the Nadir tribes, The WOlfshead, Soul Stealers, Curved Horns, and Stone Tigers.
I have some good ideas for units and agents but its gonne take heaps of time to do them all, I started on a few units on the weekend, I took a few that were mentioned in the books, but made some up as well. LEgion Cavalry for example, this is going to take the most time so if anyone has ideas, or wants to help with them let me know.
Thanks for the interest, will post more later
