Dude, what i did when i changed the sicilians to the Knights Hospitaller was download the Crazy Ivans Serbia/croatia mod(an excellent mod by the way) and searched through the readme and basically copied everything that needed to be copied and it runs like a dream("The Grandmaster of the Hospitallers has died. His heir has taken over the Hospitallers).
I hope i have helped, or maybe i have bored you senseless, either way, bye

Variables.txt I think is what your after.
If you can't find what your looking for in a particular
file try another one http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Sorry man for any confusion. If your doing a mod such as the one you are doing there are plenty of ones out there to help you. Crazy Ivan,Bohemund and the Person who did the Sword Brethren mod(sorry just can't remember your name off the top of my head) have excellent read me's,so download it and search through the the files such as start position, crusader units, etc These can really help to see where you have gone wrong.
I know a might not have explained clearly but what i did with Sicilians/Hosptillers can be done in exactly the same way for Kievans/Novgorod. Hoped i explained a what advice i was trying to give and sorry if i couldn't be more help.

I noticed when you do get help you do not respond either .Not very polite when someone takes time to help acknowledge that, it is the considerate thing to do.
