R.I.P. Leonard Skinner

[Hosakawa Tito]

Namesake to the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, Leonard Skinner (http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/2010-09-20/story/leonard-skinner-lynyrd-skynyrd-namesake-dies-77-0), passes at 77. My favorite band while growing up.
Years later, though, his son was listening to the band’s 1973 debut album, “Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd.” The younger Skinner recalled that his father was not impressed, asking him: “What the hell kind of noise are you listening to?” *reminds me of my own Pop :laugh4:*. In college, my drinking group used to go see a band at one of the local bars all the time, one of the guys knew the singer. They did mainly covers of current rock/alt stuff, and we would always (after several pitchers) yell out "Freebird!" at some point. After a couple of years of this, to our surprise they actually played it. We boo'ed immediately, it ruined the running joke. :laugh4:
