Sound Effects Stopped Working

As the title says. They just randomly stopped working, restarting doesn't help and the music plays but not the effects. Help? Please?

Randomly?
New drivers installed, other mods installed, new soundcard installed, windows-updates applied that affect sound?

Run vanilla RTW and see if the problem is there too.
Otherwise you can run validateInstallation.bat found in your RTW folder and post your results here.

Have you checked your audio options? Sometimes if my comp is running hot the sound effects stop working because the game automatically sets them to "mute".

This was the problem. Danke Biowulf! I guess the last few days of summer were too hot to handle.

WOW, but the music still plays?

yeah, everything else is still fine, but there's no SFX. It's not a serious problem since you can just go to the Audio options and uncheck the mute button.

Got to wonder why this happens... It makes no sense. Though fortunately, it reminded me to switch to my sound card instead of using my motherboard, so hopefully that will prevent it happening again; also, it sounds much better!
