View Full Version : Rebel Clans
Hello, I wonder if anyone have a list, or if it's possible to check up (and if so; where) in the game's files what the names of the rebel clans is (e.g. Ito, Hosokawa etc.) and in what provinces they spawn.
(Oh, and sorry for my bad English)

Er, silly me can't edit my posts, do anyone know how to do that on this site?
There is only one rebels & ronin clan (often referred to as simply 'the ronin') in STW. When you invade a rebel province you should be informed of the minor clan name, this is linked to per province rather than per clan. I'm not aware of any text file containing the list of minor clan names, so it may be hard coded like most other aspects of STW.

Okay, thank you then, I guess I just have to invade then ;)
Just one thing; Tosa, for example, is shrouded by fog of war completely for any clan. If I first invade say Awaji, and work my way out through the provinces on Shikoku, then I'm already at war with the Rebels and can't see the clans name? Is there any way to sue for peace with the rebels? And sorry for my stupid questions, I have only played Shogun for a week or so now, and only because Shogun 2 is coming up.

I'm not sure I follow you there. You will see a rebel clan name on the invasion parchment screen. It will say something like (not exact quote), "your troops invade Tosa province, the rebel faction led by the Chosokabe clan prepare to defend the province, you will have to defeat them..." etc.

There is no way to negotiate peace with the ronin - your only option is to remove any borders you have with them. Once you have no contact with the ronin for a full season an automatic ceasefire should occur. Why do you want peace with the ronin anyway?
Which campaign, difficulty and faction are you playing? Are you running Gold/Warlord/Mongol Invasion or original STW?
Oh, I guess I didn't explain clear enough?
I mean like this: The province of Tosa (on eastern Shikoku, or south on the map) is shrouded completely with fog of war for any clan. If I try to take over other Shikoku provinces from the ronins, then I will be at war with them so I can't invade the Tosa province and see the minor daimyo's name, like Asai or so, haha ;) The reason I want peace with the ronins is so I can invade "new" provinces, like Tosa for instance, and see the clans name. I play Sengoku Jidai, Easy (come on, i'm new, and this campaign is just to see the minor clans names for a side project) and on Warlord Edition. By the way, now that we are talking about it, what is the difference between Warlord and Gold? Just spotted Warlord on my country's version of Ebay and bought it pretty cheap.
You don't need to make peace and declare war again just to see minor clan name. If you invade a ronin province it should tell you the minor clan name.
If you want historical information there are easier ways of going about it - online resources such as the Samurai Archives may be more helpful. http://www.samurai-archives.com/
Gold Edition is the same as Warlord Edition which is the same as Original STW + Mongol Invasion expansion.

Thank you for your time. I really don't know what I was thinking about when I didn't see that.
This is not really done for the historical information (thanks for the link anyway; seems interesting), I try to list the factions for the different TW and EU games and do a comparison.
if i (with my tired eyes) understand clearly the reason of your problem is, that you can't see any province's name etc if you don't share a border with it. once you conquered for example awa (i hope it's the right province i'm mentioning. the one with the river next to sanuki) you should see the name of tosa province and it's owner
