Hey SoS

have noticed your posts regarding your mini campaign your helping welly with, was wondering if you would be interested in helping out on the mod im working on at the moment. I started to work on the startpos and other files relating to the campaign side of it, but decided to wait until welly has released his final version of LMM, as i want to create a whole new campaign map, so ive been concentrating mainly on doing the new units for it, and have discovered that its quite time consuming and havent had any more time to work on the other files (startpos, name etc) was wondering if you would be interested in helping out(this can also include anyone else interested as well)if so email me, or rely to this thread.

Is this in regards to Drenai? Yes I would help with startpos/names etc. but I am kind of busy right now with LMM (100 yrs war and Holyland) with Wellington I am also helping out with the Napoloeonic Mod with Lord Krazy and Wellington so the plate is kind of full , But I did say when you asked originally I would help and I keep my word I will try to do what I can e-mail me and let me know what your planning and I will try to do what I can I do not want to try and do to much at once and fall short of a good effort but if you can wait awhile I would be glad to assist where I can...

Very quickly. I read your original thread and noticed there were 1 or 2 maps available from the WWW that may suit your purpose. One map was called 'drenaifine.jpg' by some guy called "Eric Davis darkness1376@earthlink.net"

Whilst I now nothing about drenai it appeared that this map was suitable for using as the basis for a new mod as it only appeared to have around 15/20 land provinces and a couple of island groups.

If you wish to get 'up and running' ASAP I can quickly provide you with the necessary 'starter files/parameters' in order for you to have a new drenai campaign map for MTW. You can then play aroung and progress with other apsects of your mod based on your new campaign map.

Let me know - it's relatively easy to get you started. I just need to know what 'drenai map' you have in mind and were it canbe downloaded from. I can then send you the current version of LMM (as SoS has) and it should be relatively straightforward for you to have a drenai campaign map up and running within an hour or so.

One quick point. One of the principal objectives of LMM was to allow the use of WWW maps for MTW campaigns whilst not breaking Copyright - by ensuring each map is merely a individual download specifically for that indivuals purpose/usage. That does not break COpyright.

Let me know what map you have in mind and I'll try to get you up and running ASAP.

I've got the map and will send you both something tomorrow. I won't be putting too many details on (province names) 'cos I don't them but SoS knows how to do this.

I want to actually break the map down a little more so theres more provinces in some areas. But what you suggest sounds good to me it will definately help get it off the ground.

Any problems with the install of LMM post here Welly could also assist, You should not have any problems if you follow the docs I sent you also I would suggest a good read of the Automatic Lukmap and Script creator thread pinned here in the dungeon...

The only problem i had was the OCX file was missing, the one you emailed me seemed to be just a .lnk file and the LMM4V2 file you sent didnt have it in there, so i think once i get that file ill be able to install it no problems.

I'll E-mail you the OCX. It's only 21K.

You will then have to register it within Windows. Sos has the necessary documentation to do this.

The problem for me is that I can neither upload nor download from the Org since they moved to 3ddownloads. Therefore I can't ensure everyone can have the same version of LMM from a single source.

The Dranai map looks fine. A lot of things to do with it (splitting up the map into land/sea provinces that make some sense as per your knowledge, and naming such provinces). Still - it looks good.

Expect an E-mail for the OCX.

Hi SoS,

Yes that would be it. I made some mistakes initially when we (the guy's who were all assistiong with that project) were developing LMM, in terms of not including everything in the same download.

Since we got the initial versions of LMM correct, and people could use it successfully, the real nightmare occuured whereby The Org changed the upload/download medium and many people found it impossible to get things anymore.

I'm still thinking about the implications of this but it's now been 6 weeeks with no progress and (considering the Nap Mod) I have very little confidence in The Orgs ability to support individuals who are have offerings for this community. I certainly have no intentions of constantly E-mailing people with versions of software simply because The Org can no longer offer a service for individuals that attempt to offer something.

Re- the Drania project its not a big problem as only 2/3 people are involved so the E-mailing of stuff is not too problematical.

Re- the Nap mod I'm already at the stage whereby people can receive and install the 1st 2 proposed campaign maps for Napoleonics and install them within MTW. Whilst it all works, as you know, I can't get the software over to them without E-mailing and this is fast becoming a no-no.

Anyway, I'll make sure you guys have your Dreania project up and running ASAP and will give every assistance as such.

Welly, I had to convert the Drenai map to bmp for LMM to generate the map but it is fine now, I have informed shand also, He tells me he likes the map(I sent him screenshots) but would like to split the larger provinces up even more, he is sending the changes asap I will get them to you.
