View Full Version : Governments.... again.
Hi all. Just a quick queery. I previously held Belgica Nervii and constructed a Type 1 government there, after a few turns of benign, enlightened Celtic rule the Sweboz pinched it off me. I have recently retaken it and EB is asking me to construct the Regional Pacification government type even though the Type 1 government I constructed is still there.
Question: Even if I repair my old Type 1 government do I need to construct a new one or will the old one still function?

If you repair it should be fine too. Why don't you just try it? Save, click end turn till it's repaired and see.
Low on cash at the moment. A few more Sweboz cities under my sword and I willl sitting pretty.

Some money commands and autowin should solve that.
Got it repaired. You were right it still works.
You know you SHOULD rebuild the government. The gov building represents a few things. One major thing is that if the sweboz invaded they would tear down and destroy your style of government (not buildings so much but the style of gov, etc) and institute their own. You essentially need to re-instate your governmental authority in the province which would of course take some time. Repairing in 0 turns doesn't really do the system justice.

one thing ive noticed is that the AI in vanilla never destroys the government in a newly conquerd city... ive seen 3 Seleukia Saphaty (or what ever they are called) in a rebelling city...

The team would script the goverments to be destroyed upon conquest if they could, but the scripting language does not allow that. Hence they damage it 99% and expect the player to do the rest.
As for rebuilding your own government structures: if the town has been conquered for a brief period only, I don't see a problem with simply repairing the old government. It's not a building you are restoring but an organization.
