I can't understand the neligence on ND part. I know some of the guys who do this for Tech and the scissor lifts are much stronger and they are made to come down when it gets to bad

I know we have more exp with wind out here but, how this happend is mind boggiling.

These positions are highly coveted at most schools...crazy

if you actually waste time tweeting about a life threatening situation WHILE it is happening....I´m gonna go out on a limb here and guess we didn´t just lose the potential inventor of the cancer cure here.

No I meant SFTS....

Why does he hate peoples freedom to choose to work in dangerous situation and the freedom to not care about the safety of your workers?

A tragedy, and it seems like no one involved understood workplace safety.

Sad this. The guy is much too young to die. Just another SFTS really, suddenly gone.

I didn't read up on the details, so no idea who are what went wrong. I guess the lesson is that when you think you are vulnerable, you probably are. I must say I've done some stupid things throughout the years too. I still can't believe I got away with them too. So much is just a matter of bad luck, of Fortuna feeling cruel or magnanimous. I suppose this guy's time was up indeed.

Tip: when outdoors, don't climb a large rocks. Especially when you have, in fact, never rock climbed ever before and don't know at all what you are doing.
Tip 2: as any inexperienced stray climbing a steep tree finds out too: surprisingly, climbing up is much easier than climbing down. Once at the top, one may even discover that there is no way down that won't get you killed.
Tip 3: if you must ignore tips 1 and 2, then under no circumstance do so when without a cell phone and not a living soul in sight. :shame: :bigcry:

It may also help to check that your cellphone, if you brought one, actually "has network" as they say.

And dito about twittering about a dangerous situation instead of getting out of that situation first.
