View Full Version : Trolls
I have recently become concerned by the growing number of trolls who go around to people's threads in the Frontroom and launch personal attacks. These people are just being *(#$#@%s and looking to spread bad feelings around the Frontroom. I thought that it was the Kingdom of Peace and Love, and not of hate and bitterness? Why the need to go looking for trouble and telling people that their thoughts are not worthy enough to be posted? Of course I am not talking about anyone in particular...it is just a trend that I have seen...

If you think someone is launching a personal attack, I encourage you to contact the moderator in charge of the sub-forum, or hit the report button.
If you're talking about me, which quite obviously you are, would you care to explain how this is post warrents its own thread:
You can't catch me, I'm the Vukman!
In my opinion, that is spam.

Regardless of the actual parties involved or implied, I was thinking that this type of slur had expired long time ago. Teh interwebz is there to amaze me as always.
Plus, lack of empathy is one hell of a modern age sickness. We still love turning a blind eye to the mirror.
pever was not trolling imo. Your thread didn't really have a clear subject, so he couldn't really derail the thread. But such threads are basically the only way the FR survives. If they weren't there it would be a much quieter place. I have no problem with it really, and I think you both could have handled it differently. But what do I know really? I'm just a guy from Texas with too much time on his hands.

One more dirty thread to stain this place. It's not that everyone trolls, it's just that you're all horrible people.
Now. Thank me for my post gracing this thread

Last year i think, smack bang during the 10th anniversary of the website, making Andres' life miserable, as he suddenly had like 10 pever[colour] accounts in his mafia game, with no idea who was who.
The pever brigade lives on in spirit though. Especially through one member, who hasn't been back since to change his to his old style (Killfrenzy)
blue was popular. We had peverblue, peverblue_ and i think a peverlightblue.

The end result being that anyone else who might want to change their member name for legitimate reasons now has to jump through hoops to do so. Way to go...

peverblue here, *ROWWRR!*.
Don't take Hosakawa's obviously biased post at face value. ~;) It was just a couple of friends having some good natured fun and forming their own society with plans of world domination, and a bunch of big green and red bullies felt threatened and over-reacted.
What is so harmful about a secret peversociety anyway?

As I have stated multiple times, it wasnt my idea.
You could re-allow it and put a block on the name change, so it requires at least 6 months gap in between changes.

I like this idea. It would allow people to change their usernames with ease, but stop them from changing their names so many times that nobody knows who anyone is.

If name changing is going to be allowed again, I'd like to see a readily accessible list on the patron's profile, showing a complete change history. Personally, I'd prefer to see it remain by permission, approved and facilitated by staff. Frivolous name changes don't add any value that I can see, and opens the door for potential abuses, as we have seen already.

Problem with this plan is that, if the user change their names to something silly, they can't change it for 6 months.

That makes it more funny.

We actually had a similar limitation in place, but a software update disabled it. Annoying, we were not aware it had been disabled until suddenly there were several pevers running around.
Hello,
It was an add-on that was no longer compatible with the boards software. The software changes a lot (for seemingly no reason), which is quite annoying.

Wait, wait, wait. Annoying the mods. Why are we always flaming the EB Tavern, Peve? Those boys almost burnt down the forum in a storm of spam and hate.

Damn it, Toes, we really gotta do something about this. Like, a lawyer or something.
