Many temples in EB give morale upgrades. As there is no indicatiion on the unit card, how is this tracked? I have seen it said in some posts, that morale bonuses are bugged and not given. What is the truth?

morale bonus is bugged, just try to give a temple +30 morale bonus, recruit a panda, and let's see if they are willing to fight to the death :clown:

It is thought that if it does work that they only work inside the province of the temple... Why CA does not comment on this mechanic, or any other mechanic.... ugh... we'll never know.

It's actually pretty simple. There's no value in them admitting that parts of the engine simply don't work as they'd intended.

Hi , been reading guides and AARs here for a while , thought it was time too contribute too. So morale bonuses from temples dont do anything? is there a way to see units' morale. Does this also mean that morale bonuses from FM traits etc. dont do anything either? Thanks

afaik the FM traits do actually work as it's part of the "generals Aura" maybe the temple has a similar effect, thus the bonus only applies when fighting in the city, maybe even only close to the temple.

still I think it's just a flaw in the programming that's concealed by inavailibility of a current morale display.

Does this mean that my negative morale bonuses from starving troops won't have any effect if i keep the general far away?

nah I think its part of the "general on the field"-aura which covers the whole battlefield not the "General closeby"-aura which is displayed in the units moral indicator. you know all units rout easier when the general dies, or there is only a captain arround.

often wondered the same thoughts about unit morale - change the stats from morale to exp as a solution

Morale is +2 per exp but the +1 attack/defense is rather unbalancing.

...which doesn't particularly keep quite a few factions from pulling exp-level bonuses from the damnedest things; notably, game fields etc., diverse temples and damn gummint buildings. IIRC there are also quite a few instances where, for example, a govtype gives an exp level *and* morale penalties...

So yeah. Given that by all accounts the building morale mods are quite nonfunctional it seems somewhat unfair to quite a few factions that are supposed to get lots of them from assorted govtypes, temples and whatnots compared to the neighbour who up and pulls wholesale exp levels from the same, don't you think?
