Because, let's face it: this is no less than they have deserved for building Europe over the last 100 years.
In most of Europe, a social democratic party ruled for the first few decades after the war, meaning that they rebuilt a war-torn europe. Inter-european war is now further from our minds than ever before, thanks to the accomplishments of these social democrats. They have guided us through the cold war and countless other crisises.
In recognition of this greatness, I propose that the current leaders and their offspring be given the following special rights:
-that their bodies are to be considered holy and above the law
-that they be exempt from taxation
-that they should remain our nations nominal leaders, no matter what any election says
-that they and their family is given proper residences, preferably at the most central locations, as well as retreats and such
-that they be given a military guard to ensure their safety, about battalion size, paid for by the state
-a yearly sum of 5 million euro's(half that amount for each of their children), to be spent however they please
-that every visiting head of state is to be welcomed in their private residence
This is the least we can do for them, and anyone who disagrees with me hates my nation.

Yep, social democracy had its time. And we have moved on. I am of the view that socioeconomic bla bla forces dictate the political climate, as opposed to the reverse.

They are, simply because nobody would dare crossing them, they will destroy you. The queen who is so worried about the growing lack of solidarity in her yearly christmas speech also has all sorts of tax-exempts, and she has all sorts of tax evading constructions running that would get me in jail. It's also a public secret that the royal family never pays for your services, if you deliver that cake you will have to be gushing over a lakey officially letting you know it has pleased her majesty, but payment forget it.
