Ok, so before i get New Vegas on PC I want to free up some space on my hard drive. so, having not played Oblivion in...a long time, I decided to uninstall it. well everything seemed to go well, but the desktop shortuct will not go away. It says that it doesn't exist anywhere basically. the specific error message when trying to delete is
"Could not find this item.
This is no longer located in C:\Users\Public\Desktop. Verify the items location and try again."
So, after a search on the internet I found FileAsassin, which didn't work at all.
How do I just get rid of this ugly little shortcut? I don't get why windows has so much trouble with, if it doesn't recognize that it doesn't exist however it is still there, at least just saying "alright, we'll just put that icon in the recycle bin for you."
this is really bugging me so if anybody has any ideas please help.
