Freeze in the same battle

Hello Totalwar community!

First of all EB is absolutely Awesome, no doubt:beam: I'm sorry my first post has to be a request for a solution but I want to continue this awesomeness.

I'm playing as Carthage ( hard to remember the correct name) and I am on my conquest to conquer Eqypt as the betrayed me only several years ago. After fighting a lot in the desert I have approached Alexandria and now standing in front of the best Egypt has to offer, my reinforcements had arrived from Sicily by boat and I dicided to attack their main army to break their best defence in 1 battle. I set up my army in the way I won the desert fights with the Eqyptians, and hit Start Battle , but the game freezes, bad luck I thought, so I had to shut my pc down by pulling the power, so I tried again but it froze at the same point, when I hit the start battle button.

Is there any know solution or do I have to go back in my save games and set up a different attack?

I'm having the same problem in my Romani campaign, also outside Alexandria. I tried several times and got the screen freeze every time. I auto-resolved to move the game along the first time this happened. As I'm currently besieging Alexandria, the Ptolemaoi relief army attacked me, and once again, the game freezes. To be clear, the game does switch from the campaign map to the battle map, it will even let me deploy my troops, but when I hit start battle the freeze kicks in.

I'm pretty sure I can just use auto resolve again (or the auto-win cheat, it's a pitiful army they've sent this time), but would there be a way to fix this? Thanks for any help.

I somehow managed to get it to work on the Alexandria tile on my last battle there. once again, I was offered battle, deployed my troops and pressed start. The game froze once again, so I selected ctl+alt+del to bring up the task manager (vista) to exit out. This time though, the game minimized to the taskbar, and when I then brought the program back to the top, all of a sudden it was working correctly. Perhaps that will work for you.

I've now secured the area around Alexandria pretty well, so I'm hoping I don't have to do battle there again!
