Prussian to the Iron

So I found this little gem at Gamestop.com. Basically Homefront appears to be a BC2 style game, but with some key changes (such as greater vehicular usage, ability to instantly buy vehicles and weapons, etc.). It's about a Korean invasion of the US after an EMP strike cripples America.
Seems pretty cool, I'll definitely get it. Anyone else see anything about this?
From what I've seen the graphics are kinda dated, let's see what we get in return. No shortage on good multiplayer shooters lately but previews look good.

no shortage? So far this I've only seen Black Ops and Bad Company 2 this year that were really good. and Black Ops feels like its just kinda overly run-of-the-mill, rather than really innovative. I'd like to see a new shooter as new and innovative as BC2 was.
Played MAG? Better than BC2, 256 players on a single map, has a RTS feeling to it like the oldschool battlefields. Squad-tactics is encouraged but if you prefer to play like a lone wolf it's perfectly possible

I HATED MAG with a vengeance. I don't know what it was, maybe that it was too easy to kill me despite me shooting first in a so-called "realistic" shooter, or the fact that it was difficult to find anybody outside of the only camping place their team uses. Hated that game.
It's a very tactical shooter, you need to know the maps pretty well to enjoy it, it has a bit of a steep learning curve but it's fun if you stick with it. COD and BF2 are so random and chaotic I never know what's going on, you never feel like taking a strategy. In MAG you can really break or hold a line with pure numbers. Reality sadly is that that's rare but it's really cool when it happens. Game would need huge clans to shine but there aren't any

I didn't ever see anything like that. And yeah CoD is pretty random, but BC2 was really ordered as far as I could tell. Aside from realistic sniping on the flanks and infiltration and enveloping from behind, it was usually an ordered battle, and prety realistic as far as tactics. Except the lack of limits on classes; you could have half a team sniping and half shotgunning/rocket guys. If a team only got like a few snipers then it woulda been a bit more realistic.

Probably stupid to ask this on a Total War board on the same day that a new Total War is released, but has anyone bought this? Any good?

I've read the story being too short.

This is without a doubt one of the most over-hyped and under-performing games I have bought in the last 5 years.
EDIT: Alright I suppose some explanation is needed... (PC version at least...)
The interface looks dated, there are graphical glitchs (white outlines around at least one character, small things like that), the storyline is short and nowhere near as deep as we were promised, I haven't felt emotionally engaged with my character (no backstory), the gunplay is just like COD. I've heard Multiplayer is also buggy at this point as well.
Disappointing really.

Exactly how short is it? As these days "normal" FPS single story run time is 8-9 hours.

Around 4 hours at a push according to this (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/19/wot-i-think-homefront-single-player/), in which seems to agree with CountArach and utterly pans the game as very uninvolving and poor gameplay-wise, although the graphics are very pretty apparently - now where have I heard that before... :laugh4:

Bargain bin purchase for me then.
