So I'm off to Asia...

So I'm off to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and China in January for a before-uni-starts-in-Feb-holiday with some mates.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should see, what I shouldn't do, what might surprise me and what I should be aware of? etc. Any helpful advice would be much appreciated, I'm going to ride some elephants and see a mui thai fight in Thailand (touristy things) but everything else is generally up in the air else.

N.B. For those who are going to suggest something along the lines of lady boys, I'd rather you didn't as my dad has awkwardly tapped around the subject enough...

That's true, I hear a lot of Aussies go to Thailand in Jan/Feb. High season I believe.

if you need some good nights in Indonesia, just tell me, and I'll gladly guide you to local playspots, where is it? Bandung? Jakarta? (only those 2 cities I know)

PS: we have the biggest "that M2TW place to recruit spies and assassins" complex in South East Asia

I'm in Jakarta for 4 days but will probably go to Java and Sumatra while I'm there.
