A reocurring that is valid each and every year. The EU released a handy school agenda that besides self congratuling theirselves on preventing war also conveniently marks all religious festivals, very handy of course if respect is your thing but it just isn't complete, they forgot a certain one, there is nothing happening on two days well you geddit these two ones. And wth is the pishtu-festival

If you don't believe in anything, then you should not object to people using holiday stuff in public view.

Frags is right, I can no longer find the link but the EU apologised and said it was an oversight.

Anyway, I will personally be leading this war on Christmas, an idolatrous remnant of Popish paganism that has no place in Christianity. :knight:

The celebration of Sol Invictus was hijacked by Christians who were upset that it was more popular than Easter.

Christmas is part of British Tradition and hence is important.

When true what? When true sketches of society escape through the fringes of journalism?

Fragony, I'm inclined to write some guidelines on your manner of speech. I'll call it "The Incoherence of the Dutch"

Pfft! Incoherence of the Dutch?

Have you heard Dutch spoken? It sounds like the vocabulary of a Frenchman, a German and an Englishman being slurred and muttered through a five inch pipe.

You can almost understand some civilised language from within it, but in truth it is just a maverick, barbaric dialect.

Well, his location says "Thriberghen, the Netherlands", so I have a strong inclination to think that he has heard it spoken.

So, no link yet: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/8207411/European-Commission-criticised-for-omitting-Christmas-on-EU-school-diary.html

It's too glaring an oversight to be accidental.

So, no link yet: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/8207411/European-Commission-criticised-for-omitting-Christmas-on-EU-school-diary.htmlAh, so a few non-Christian religious holidays managed to creep in, mistaken for feasts of a general nature. These shall have to be removed. Taxpayer funded diaries ought to be neutral. Some non-Christain holidays may look neutral, but have a clear religious nature. (Compare the 'Christian' New Year on december 31st, which is not religious, and the 'Christian' solstice feast on December 25th, which is religious. The former is neutral, the latter particular)

I am already looking forward to next year. Equally as excitable as the 'Christian' press is the Muslim press. No doubt next year they will fill their pages with stories about the EU War on Islam.

Incidentally, as school material goes, these diaries are distributed in summer, and run from august to august. This is all old news, a meal well past its expiration date, heated up in a micro wave oven and served six months later to serve the annual Tabloid War Against the Imagined War on Christmas.

Here's the diary, although sadly one can't browse the daily entries: http://www.europadiary.eu/?page_id=585

War on christmas?

Why on earth would there be a need for that...? Commercialism won that war decades ago(if you can call an immediate surrender a war, that is). But hey, let's all close our eyes and imagine some scawwy secularists wanting to hack up our first-borns!! :smash:

Being Dutch myself, I know for a fact that we changed, nay, revolutionised the "ch" sound. chhchchchch. Groningen Scheveningen Scheve Schepen Putjesscheppers!

Fragony is right. There's a war going on in the real world and I noticed it already reached the .Org:

Merry Christmas, Blessed Solstice, Festive Pancha Ganapati, Happy Islamic New Year (already in progress; Ashura just past), Happy Channukkah (now finished, Tu B'Shevat next month), A peaceful celebration of Wang-Mu, a joyous Tohji Taisai (and Oharai to follow), or whichever/whatever may apply to you.

That's right, "Merry Christmas" applies to everyone, I don't see how it could offend anyone or not apply to them when you wish them a merry christmas.
You're basically wishing them a good time and reminding them of the christian festival to celebrate the birth of someone the Christians believe loves ALL HUMANS, what exactly is wrong with that again?

Fragony

Ask the islamphilist eurocrats

al Roumi
12-23-2010, 14:08
Er, I guess that might mean me (for one)?

I agree with Husar, I can't see why it'd be insulting/upsetting in any way to be wished a "happy christmas" or "eid mubarak" for that matter. Frankly, it's more likely to be upsetting to the person saying it when you look back blanky and shrug: "thanks -i guess?"

Isn't well wishing almost like giving presents? i.e. arguably as, if not more, gratifying to the giver than the receiver?

Or maybe I just hate christmas because i'm an evil anti-christian nihilist bureaucrat. :santa2:

Keep in mind that God "invited" three strangers from the east to the birth of his son, how is that not multicultural? ~;)

These diaries, like all school material, are distributed in spring.

Just how that broadsheet tabloid managed to spin this eight months later into 'Eurocrats attack Christmas' is beyond me.

Not only did this story not happen (as presented), it did not happen eight months ago already.
Ah well. It involves teh mulims, teh eurocrats, and their attack on all that is good and just in this world. Who could argue with that?

Well an omnission is an act of rejection, the EU simply is a wrecking ball handled by incredibly boring bureaucrats. The spiteful ones.

Heh, a group of my friends had a major argument about this. The end result was that whenever someone in the group says "Merry Christmas" to someone else in the group, it means ":daisy: You" and whenever someone in the group says ":daisy: You" to someone else in the group, it means "Merry Christmas." I must say, it makes for a rather amusing holiday season. :2thumbsup:

Isn't the problem that different countries have Xmas at different times of the year? Like on the 6th, etc.

If all festivals were ignored I would be very happy, I am no friend of religion. But there really is no need to mention each and every one but, I see it as a direct attack on western culture which should be multi in the eyes of people who live in 100% white neighborhoods. It isn't just a mistake it's policy, down with us
