Good idea!
I don't see why not, however, we'll have to gauge the level of interest, the subject/writing form, contest judges, timing, e.t.c..

Any info on this, Psycho?
I may enter if there is one (depending on whether or not it is a subject which I deem best complements my strengths).
So...um...any contest? :P
I think there was an art contest once Vuk, and IIRC the second of these contests had both stories and art for consideration. So it is possible, would that be a preferred concept over a straight "words only" contest?
Any contest will need judges and other technical details, and as I have been away I haven't been able to iron that out. I have been able to put thought into the format and topic.

Yeah, art and words would be best I think. Maybe two categories?

Hey guys, I'm currently hosting a large mafia in the GR, but once that's over, I can organise a writing contest if you want, probably somewhere in May.
I'll start thinking about the organisatorial aspect (mainly rules and how the winner will be decided).
In the meanwhile, you can help me by suggesting themes and settings. I guess Sengoku Jidai as a setting seems appropriate, with the new TW game out right now.
I also like Vuk's suggestion of an art contest. I've started re-reading Jordan's Wheel of Time series, so I'm a bit in the fantasy mood myself. How would you like that as a theme for an art contest?

Uh oh, Andres is wielding a Content Manager hat... ~;)
Jokes aside, I'm seconding the idea of the Sengoku Jidai writing contest. I think it's appropriate with the new TW game out, and appropriate for the reworking of our beloved Total War Org.
I was wondering whether we would be able to enter with already posted work, because I've done a specific Sengoku Jidai work for the launch of S2TW. Thank thee.
I think it's tradition that the entries have to be new work, created specifically for the contest.
That doesn't mean you can't draw inspiration of your previous work, like a spin-off or a side story with one of your characters in a leading role.
If Jordan would be resurrected and would decide to participate, he could write a story about the False Dragon Logain for instance.

Very well.
I shall await the contest. If you need any help organising it, drop me a PM.
