im sorry how to do it?
Use the trivial script for alexander submod I have, and simply run the game with the original EB 1.2 shortcut, just make sure to copy some extra files it will request to \sp game edu backup\ and \mp game edu backup\.
I think the files in question are the descr_model_battle.txt and descr_projectiles.txt files found in the \EB\Data folder.

Edit: Whoops, apologies, I asked you the same question a year ago and you replied. Ignore this below.
Jirisys, is the RS2 Environments for battlemap and stratmap compatible with this mod pack? I realized that you have only added the stratmap variety in this modpack.
Was my answer satisfactory?

Important Announcement:
Hello JEBMMPers, I require of your help with the upcoming update of the Mega Mod Pack, which will include support for BI, new mods, more fixes, and generally, much better.
But I will need people to aid me with alpha testing, since it is too much work for me to do effectively. So this is a shout out to all of those who wish to help, as well as those who want get a taste of what's new in the update. Sadly, this might include many headaches and monotonous work, but it will certainly pay off for everyone else.
However, you have to meet some requirements:
-Have RTW updated to version 1.5.
-Have enough computer knowledge to backup your EB install, have multiple installs and modifying shortcut paths and things as such.
-Be active in the forums. It's not necesary to be able to access it every single moment of your day, but it's a plus to you and me. And for that matter.
-Have enough spare time. As long as four or five hours a week for the mod pack.
-If you play RTW on Steam, you must be able to work out how to get the mod or another install running. I don't have RTW on Steam, so I can't help you on that matter (And yes, I'll add compatibility with Steam in the update, but not in the alpha stages).
Is there any way to improve my chances to getting picked? Well yes, here are some optional credentials that can help you get picked for alpha testing:
-Have one or both of the Rome - Total War expansions; ideally, all in the same version (i.e. Steam version, disc version, gold edition, etc).
-Be willing to test the mod pack for the different engines it is available, though this is relatively unimportant.
-Have an IM client for quick and efficient communication. Ideally something like Skype or Google Talk; else, Facebook, Windows Live, Steam or EvolveHQ.
-Have good download speeds. As I will have to send the newest build to you personally, or at least stored in some secret part of JEBMMP's website (http://jebmmp.ebmultiplayer.com).
Oh, that's right, JEBMMP has a website now! A tiny, tiny website! Sponsored by the kind vartan. You'll find there a downloads section that has all the working installers, but not the fixes or addons yet.
Click here to go check it out and tell me how tiny it is! (http://jebmmp.ebmultiplayer.com/)
But let's not derail ourselves too much, if you want to become a beta tester, you can send me a PM (click here) (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=76238) or send me an email instead (click here) (mailto:jirisys@ebmultiplayer.com) with the title "Mod Pack Alpha Tester - YOURNAMEGOESHERE", and possibly include some details that might be useful (what expansions you have, whether it's a Steam version or not, etc).
Thanks for supporting the mod pack, may your games be absent of CTDs.
Regards.
~Jirisys ()
I also forgot to mention that all the names of the beta testers will be included in the post and in-game, in case you were wondering.

hi Jirisys.
a -foolish- question:
my game until yesterday was the s.c. 'Eb for BI '
better say 'New installer for Europa BArbarorum with Barbarioan Invasion', by Ferromancer.
I saved it in another folder,
and then i downloaded Your Super-mega-mod-pack.
I have to assume that it does not work with 'eb for BI', does it?
if i paste ferromancer's mod, your will be overwritten (and in fact lost), correct?
is there anyway to make both the mods cooperate?
thx
belliger
Precisely. And no until you wait for version 1.1 to be released, as there will be a BI version.

Hello to everyone! I have the same problem that you have when I move my Archistrategos in a campaign away from the capital. What can we do Jirisys??
Hey guys running the mod and loving it!
I'm playing AS and finding the "not in his satrap" trait very annoying to manage as the penalties are pretty grim for this and I've no way of know how to get rid of it! Any advice?
I enjoyed a lot your mod pack (the ALEX.exe), and actually I want to perform little modifications (for myself) to Roleplaying as the Seleukids and in this I did add to the roster the Hoplitai Haploi, Kardaka Arteshtar, Qalaim Numidim and other units to the seleucids (I had some troubles with the Agranikoi pelekuphoroi) and included the farms+2 (I am tempted to include the highways after the conquest of Rome for the seleucids) in an assimilation of the Baktrioi, Makedon and India by the Arche. I would like also to create the battles of Alexander (Chaeronea, Granicus, Issus, Tyrus, Gaugamela and Hydaspes) as a prologue, and perhaps some of the Diadochi, but I can't enable the battle editor. Dou you have any advice to help me please? Thanks a lot again for your wonderful job.
Did you use a custom shortcut or the trivial script?
If you used the custom shortcut, then add -enable_editor to the end. If using the Trivial Script, just check the option to enable editor.

Is the non-Alexander version of this modpack compatible with the City Mod (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?79775-City-Mod)?
I'm not sure. It might. I think the problem was only with Alexander.

In fact you can mod another city mod without touching descr_regions by just modding EDB with a hidden source. I have no idea if it helps against CTDs of city mods or not.

None for the 1.0.x version, there will be for 1.1.x thanks to ExTSO, but that's a long way to go still.

Hi I am currently having problems starting rome total war alexander now after i installed the new extended trivia script. At the loading screen it says "script error eb/data/export_descr_build unknown unit type: legio i germanica" I was wondering if you could help me. as everything was working great with your mod untill i installed ExTSO. I have added the export descr unit to sp edu backup even the building file. I even uninstalled your mod and re installed it and same problem.
ExTSO is not made to be compatible with the current version of the mod pack.
You can, however, install ExTSO someplace else, and replace the files with the mod pack files, then copy those files to your EB install.

Have you considered adding the spoils of victory mod into your pack?
I used to have it on my old computer before it died. It gave a small amount of mnai to the winners of large battles to represent the spoils of winning the battle.
Great Pack. Really helps improve the game play.
Thank you Jirisys.
The problem with the SoV is that it wasn't working back when I started developing the pack. So I didn't add them.
I've messaged V.T. Marvin several times already. In fact, I selfishly credit myself for convincing him to redo the SoV mod for EB 1.2.
As for adding it to the current version of the mod pack? I'll have to post an announcement about that.

Figured out what was causing the legio I germanica. Using your version of EXUIM is what causes the crash and it's probably because you forgot to add the legions at the end of them and even me copy and pasting the legions wont fix the error.
ExTSO or ExUIM? I don't know if ExUIM is supposed to be added to this version of the mod pack. And ExTSO is, as I have said before, not compatible with this version of the mod pack.

None of the links works, I also tried to download from http://jebmmp.ebmultiplayer.com but it downloads like 60% and then says that there is an error

The GameFront and FileFactory links work. And the error is likely a connection problem on your end. I can download it fine.

Not unless you can actually mod them in.

Taken from an announcement on the Mod Pack's website: (http://jebmmp.ebmultiplayer.com/2013/05/10/discontinued/)
Hello again MMPers. I am here to make an important announcement concerning the current 1.0.x version of the Mod Pack.
It has been quite a long time since the first release of the Mod Pack (two years, to be precise), and all updates were released soon after, not even a month had passed, if I recall correctly. Beyond that, I released some (quite badly compatibilized) mini mods which I had made for the second version of the mod (currently, version 1.1.x), as well as a small hotfix that corrected some annoying CTDs.
It's been more than a year and no updates have been released since. And I don't plan to release any more updates to the current 1.0.x versions of the mod. That's right, I'm officially declaring that the 1.0.x version of the mod has been discontinued. That doesn't mean that there won't be any technical support for that version of the mod, rather, that there will be no further minor updates, addons, fixes or compatibility adjustments to the addons I released back in late 2011 (sorry lads, but you're gonna have to copy those files manually).
Back when I released the mod pack, I was younger, more eager, and more careless, so it was a complete mess, organization-wise. The folders where I had made the mod pack was like if there was a hurricane that swept through a pile of spare parts and managed to make a decent car, but you wouldn't be able to know what to fix if something was wrong. That made it quite difficult to track down bugs and make addons, and I decided to not break my head further with that lovely mess of a mod any longer.
Hopefully you can understand.
Regards.
The Mod Master and Pack Keeper.

I can understand! Thanks for all your hard work, Mod Master and Pack Keeper!

Yes thank you for the mod it was really good. My only true complaint and maybe its me or maybe i hope it's not just me. But i notice the campaign AI tends to do nothing at all untill like 235 bc. And trust me i gave all small factions at least LEAST! 1 million mnai. and they just sat there. BUT the aedui actually killed the arverni and took over gaul in like 230 bc. before from 272 bc untill 250 late 240 they did NOTHING absolutely nothing the romans are the only ones who expand at all in the start. Did you program that? because this happens every game. I am playing your alexander version on alx engine. Any idea what can be behind this? I thought it might have to do with your do not attack script and was wondering how to remove it.
I have no idea, I don't think it's possible to alter this. In my campaigns, usually the Parthians and Saka expand like crazy in the first few years. I guess maybe you're not looking at all the factions?

I see. guess its just bad luck on the Ai i mean i didint really give them money untill like 260 bc. Its odd because even the ptolies did not attack or well did not at least conquer and keep any arche seleukid land also until like 240-250 bc. Probably AS beat the crap out of pahlava. i had to give the pahlava like 2 full stacks of gold everything units of grivpanvar and armoured horse archers than they began to expand. :)
Hi,
First, I would like greatly thank you Jirisys for your hard work to make Eb better in better ! Otherwise, i'm a little bit confused with the install instructions.
I have re-installed a clean version of RTW Gold edition (RTW1.5 + BI1.6) + Alexander (Alx1.9 Total war ERAS). Then, EB1.1 + 1.2 fixes.
Then I installed Jirisys' Rome: Total War - Alexander - Europa Barbarorum Mega Mod Pack (JRTWAEBMMP1.03.exe). Do Have I to install...
-CTD Fix.zip
-Victory Conditions.zip
-Epilektoi Hoplitai Voice Correction.rar
-Revert Realistic Movement Mod.rar
...to make the game up to date ?
And finally, could I install the complete "RS2_Environment_for_EB" without problem of compatibilities with Jirisys Mega Mod Pack ?
Thanks by advance ;)

Hey, jirisys!
I'm not sure, but are these mods included into your modpack:
•Atraphoenix' Roma Surrectum Legions Adaptation.
•lt1956's Aquilifer unit.
???
And what should be the correct line of installing mods? (I suppose that clean RTW, RTW:ALX - latest versions of course, then EB 1.2 with latest fixes, then Maximus ALX mod? and then your mod pack?)
Yes they are, but on the alexander version of the mod pack.
If you install the Alexander version of the Mod Pack, you don't need to install the Maximus Mod for Alexander. Unless you mean EAEM, which is incompatible.
Glad to see you're back.

Heh, I've intended to install ONLY ALX version, as for me it seemed to be the best engine for EB (and especially with all these sub-mods).
But... what is the "EAEM" (I suppose it's some sort of version of ALX-based mod, but... not very sure 'bout it )
Glad to see you're back.
I'm glad too... for the past few years I had lots of RL activities as well as playing the SW:EAW&FOC with all nice mods, so the R:TW and EB had to wait for next chance.
Yet as the R2:TW appeared to be rather a disaster... then I've decided to go back to EB and play it again (and I'm also gonna to play Roma Surrectum II, as it seems to be also quite nice mod).
Judging from all these years it seems that good old R:TW (with ALX engine) is the best one and with mods basedupon it (like EB with all these submods) is the best Roman-era strategic game available for play.

Hello Jirysis,
I play EB since the beginning (beta 0.81 i think), and now i decided to buy the alex addon. But i have problems with installing your mod. My english is not that bad that i can't understand your installation instruction in the readme file. What am i doing wrong?
1. I made a clean copy of romeTW with barb. exp in C:\Games\RomeTW (direction of all the .exe files)
2. I installed AlexTW over it.
3. EB 1.1 & 1.2 in the same direction and then your mod. Everything is installed correct so far i think. The requested fixes like "on-border stratmap" fix i kept for later. I think it's ok.
My Problem starts with the shortcut. In readme you write:
-AFTER you install this mod, DO NOT open EB through ANY shortcut. YOU MUST EDIT IT'S PATH AND STARTUP TO YOUR OWN ONE (***or just create one from your rometw-alex.exe and add the modifiers to that one***). You must copy the shortcut from your ...\Rome - Total War (Named: Europa Barbarorum (Jirisys' Mega Mod Pack) to your preferred place. And THEN run it with THAT SHORTCUT.
I already tried to edit the rometw-ALX.exe shortcut on my desktop with " -mod:eb -show_err -nm -noalexander" behind it, but it does not work.
What modifiers do i have to add exactly? What does a correct shortcut look like, when i install the game in C:\Games\RomeTW, like mentioned above?
Do i have to make a freah install of everything after i failed, or is it enough to reinstall your mod pack?
Edit: Ok works now. It was a problem with a graphics driver update. Still the mod is very buggy. Often CTDs after battle, what is very annoying.

The crashes after each battle can be resolved 90% of the time by waiting 10 seconds at the battle statistics screen.

Announcement: Fixes, Submods and Alpha Build 1.1
First of all, the less important one. I have finally brought myself to upload the fixes and submods to the site so you can download it from here instead of going to a third party site that I won’t bother to check whether the files are still up or not. You will find it in the downloads section of the website (http://jebmmp.ebmultiplayer.com/downloads/), the folder aptly called ‘Fixes and Submods’.
Second, and the reason why I made this announcement here: The 1.1 Alpha version of the JEBMMP is available to be downloaded by anyone. The current build as of this writing (1.1 Alpha Build 2 + Hotfix 1) is a very barebones version that contains many fixes I deemed essential to the mod pack; it is perfectly stable (I have used it personally ever since I developed it, even for video game streaming and multiplayer on EB Online), but contains no enhancing mods at all except for my own ExTSO and the Historical Battles Add-On (which I also deemed indispensable, hence why I added it to the alpha build).
I have chosen to make it available for everyone because of three reasons. First, I have not made much progress with regards to the Alpha Build. I wanted to research a way to make it so you could choose the mods you wanted to install before I added any mods to test compatibility; but I didn’t find a way how, even though I have many mods ready to be added and made fully compatible with the current Alpha Build. I think I do anyways; even with my carefulness I have still quite a mess or two at times.
Second: it’s a stable build; at least Alpha 1.1 Build 2 + Hotfix 1 is. I would not recommend you use the build 1, since it was before I implemented ExTSO on it, and Build 2 is much, much simpler and better with it.
Third: I find it a tad silly to keep this whole thing private if I’m not making much progress and the current build is stable enough that people can enjoy it. It’s a nice little thing for those who don’t care much for mods, but would like to have the best vanilla EB experience there is. There aren’t any mods, but you can play multiplayer on EB Online, and the unit cards are much more detailed. In any case, you can always consider it a Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa/Yuletide/Saturnalia/etc. gift.
Since I am ‘releasing’ the alpha build, I should credit those that helped me with its testing development so far, so here are a short few credits:
Atraphoenix
Daykeras
Rudzinski/Lunivere
Vartan/Mamik_yev_Konak
I thank you all, testers, friends and fans who were there with me and helped me in this task; and I hope this little thing goes on. Maybe even in EB2 as well.
You can find the alpha build here (http://jebmmp.ebmultiplayer.com/downloads/alpha-build/). In order to install the current build (1.1 Alpha Build 2 + Hotfix 1) you have to download and install the base Alpha Build 2 package (JEBMMP 1.1-a2.zip), then download and apply the Hotfix 1 afterwards on top of it (JEBMMP 1.1-a2h1.zip). Further installation instructions will be in the Readme located in the EB\documentation\JEBMMP\ folder of both packages. Make sure to read them both.
Cheers.
