My condolences Strike, each promotion means more responsability and makes it harder for you spend your loot (or you just blow it quicker).

Cobblers. In so many jobs increased responsibility equates not only more money but also more security. Certainly in my jobs I've had ot work less hard as I've progressed but think more.

I've cosen a career where the word "promotion" doesn't exist.

And I'm perfectly happy with that. Thinking about it, I actually started at the highest position....

I "aim" (and I readily admit my chances of success are <1%) to become CMO of a Big Pharma company. It's not the money or the power really. It's the need to achieve.

I aim to produce the finest young adults the world has ever seen.

It's not about the power or the money, it's about the need to achieve.

hmm. If your scaling the ladder has not resulted in you "working" (playing with stress toys, browsing the interenet...) more hours in the day, then you're onto a cushy number.

The higher I've come, the more I've taken work home with me -even if just in my head. Job security certainly does increase as your skills grow, in-line (hopefully!) with worth to the company/organisation.
