Occasionally on Fifa my players moan and grumble for a bit after a nasty tackle but if I keep making them work they run it off usually... so lots of running and no rest ;)
What's wrong with your ankle ? is it swollen, bruised, cut ?
If its swollen a little ice maybe, if it is a little sprain work it out... if its just a little cut or bruise then man up... :p
Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation for a week. No running. After a week see if it feel's better. If not have another week of rest. Ankles take a while to heal, nothing you can do other than rest it and put ice on it for 20 minutes a couple times a day.

RICE method, like he said. Also you can take some NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen, if you're not allergic. You'll most likely have a soft tissue injury.

100%. Last season I missed 5 games and had 7 weeks of pain due to a groin strain. Stretching and strengthening is vital once it has healed to build up the soft tissue so it is more resistant and less likely to be injured again.
