View Full Version : Activating script

A question regarding whether it is possible to activate the script after pressing the "end turn" button, but before the end of the AIs' moves.

I always activate the script after starting the game, but I have a problem with the game often crashing after I press "end turn". The crash happens if AI attacks me and I choose to fight at the battle map mode -- typically during the battle loading screen or (sometimes) after the battle (during the loading of the campaign map screen).

If the game crashes during my first AI initiated battle, I just load my last saved game file -- I always save the game before pressing the "end turn" button. But if the crash occurs during a second or third AI intiated battle of the turn, I normally do not want to waste my time replaying the already fought battles and load the save game file that I saved just before accepting the last battle ( I save before every battle).

In the latter situation, is there a way to activate the script after I load the last battle? I have not found a way to do it, and this means that the turn was pretty much a waste as far as family members progression goes...

And does this type of crash happen to other players? For me, this normally happens after I have fought 2-3 battles (that is on average every second or third turn). Is there any solution?

Changing the executable to Alexander brings more stability, same goes for increased RAM (>2GB).
End turn crashes are covered in the frequent issues (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=103681). As long it is no repeatable crash you only will able to decrease the change of getting them, the RTW engine is that way.

btw: Waiting after a battle before returning to campaign map at the battle result screes for 20 seconds decreases the chance of getting a crash here!

Thanks for the tips, XSamatan.

I assume you mean that I can buy the Alexander extention and then run EB throught that game? Will I be able to continue my current game if I do it?

The creator of the Alex-EB submod says yes, check his thread to make it working: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?94861-ALEXANDER-EB
