Opening post:
Game setting:
This game is set in a ficitional world, comprising of various areas and members from the forums at: forums.totalwar.org/vb
Story:
Something was off. Lemur could sense it. His lordship over the off topic area was filled with the usual spam and requests for advice on girl problems, but the usual mafia haven of the Gameroom was strangely quiet. Normally the most active place, communication had suddenly stopped. As a moderator, he had to investigate.
Lemur was no stranger to mafia. He had played in some of the very first mafia games at the .org, before the creation of the Gameroom. In fact, as he passed the entrance, he spotted a plaque with a quote that he had made in the early days. He smiled as he walked past, remembering the events.
The plaque reads:
"I'm going to need to collect all of the rants about the guilty lemur, and put them in a pretty box with ponies and pink bows. Then I'm going to sprinkle sparkly magic dust on the box, and kiss it." -Lemur
The entire area was deserted. Lemur was about to take out his cell phone when the sniper hit him.
The next day, 30 people gathered at Lemur’s corpse.
“Well,” said someone, “it finally looks like we get to do this for real guys. We all know the drill, one lynch a day until all the anti-town forces are gone.”
Game setup:
The setup is hidden, all that is publicly know is the following:
The mafia is comprised of 3 members, 2 grunts and a godfather. While 2 grunts are alive, the mafia have two kills. If one dies, the mafia drops to one kill. When the second grunt dies, the godfather gains the ability to kill twice per night. If the godfather dies, it is not game over, the remaining grunts (if any) may continue. Only when all three members die are the mafia eliminated.
There are also no ‘joker’ or ‘actor’ roles. No one will obtain victory by being lynched.
Each player has a section in red in their Role PM. This section will contain unique things for each player, and must be followed.
Game rules:
Voting must be bolded and in the format of Vote: pevergreen, for an unvote, please use Unvote, Vote: pevergreen or even better, include the person you are unvoting. If the votes are not bolded, your vote will not be counted.
To avoid the WoG (Wrath of God/Modkill), you must register a valid vote in at least 75% of day phases.
Vote: Abstain and Vote: No Lynch are ]not valid votes.
There is no voting thread, all votes are to be done in this thread.
Role PMs: In private, you may not reveal anything about your role, besides your name. You may not discuss, allude to, hint or in any way attempt to convince a person/party that you have a particular role (for example: doctor, sk, vig etc) or ability. You may, in public, reveal anything from your Role PM that is not red in colour.
Quoting Host/others PMs: You are allowed to quote PMs from the host or any other players. You are allowed to forge PMs.
Screenshots are not allowed. This means no screenshots of IM logs, IRC chat, PM or any other private communication from anyone.
Regarding death of players: The host will only reveal the players character name, not role or alignment.
Rules for the dead:
You are free to continue discussing as you would normally in and outside of the thread, with the condition that you do not reveal anything private you may have known while alive. (So no post death reveals of role, abilities or results) You may only comment about in thread events and anything you may have revealed in thread before your death. If you are seen trying to circumvent this rule, you will be asked to stop posting entirely. Once you are dead, you are free from any guidelines or constraints your role may have placed on you.
Alive players may not reveal anything to dead players.
Post gameOnce the game has ended, please do not reveal your role straight away, wait for the host to post a role list.
Each phase will last for approximately 24 hours, or as close to that as the host can manage. A strict deadline policy applies. If the cutoff for actions or voting is 9:00pm, anything posted/sent at 9:00pm is accepted, anything at 9:01pm is invalid.
Ties: In the event of a tie, something will happen. The outcomes are predetermined but unknown to any players.
Any kills in this game are to be written by those who perform them. If nothing is given, or changes need to be made for in game purposes (defended, role blocked etc) the host will modify or create the kill with no regard to how good it may have been before he touched it.
Summary lists will be provided at each phase end, and will include the usual
Alive:
Dead:
Lynched:
Other categories will be added as needed. For example: WoG (Modkill)
Thats right, the game is based off many of you, or at least, identifiable traits that myself, Beskar and ATPG could think of when coming up with 30 roles. Obviously, not everyone can be there, and its all just for fun.
