hi guys

whats the object in the mongol edition of stw if you are on the japanese players side?

i mean when the game starts do the mongols just appear in 1 province as a massive horde and spread out from that province.and if so is it a province in kyushu like in history or can it be any province.

or do they have half of japan and the japanese player the other half and first one to take the whole country wins?

and if you take the whole of japan is the game over or can the mongols reappear?

The object, as I see it, is quite simple, really...

You are the first, last, and ONLY line of defense between the rice paddies of Japan and the scum of the earth!

But, in true Japanese spirit, the 1st confrontation would go something like this:

You take 16 Kensai to the battlefield. You send the first one up to the Mongol line to challenge their leader. After all, they are rumored to be the best warriors of the world, and you samurai pig-dogs would find dying to them to be of the highest honor and privilege. The Mongols turn him into a pincushion.

So, you send the next Kensai. And he too eats an arrow. So you send the 3rd Kensai. And so on 'till the 15th dies. By then, you have only one. So you commit sepuku, for you find it more honorable than arrow diets, and leave the ashigaru you ruled to inherit the country.

From then on, you have your little war for your samurais to play in. NO MORE CHOPPING WATERMELONS ON POLES! YIPPEE!

Not Mongol, simply something to replace the old boomerang-head that was the same as the Tai-Sa pic (for 500-999 posts). The Mongol icons will appear with the expansion.

i'm guessing there's some beta testers out there itching to answer you, but for the rest of us, we really dont know.

i'm also assuming you're talking about the campaign game and i can only guess that it will be a random invasion point. i mean, what's the point if you know where they're going to land and with how many game after game? not a lot of replay value in that, is there.

and if you're playing the mongols, i would guess that you can pick where you'll invade.

but in both cases, this is just a guess based somewhat on logic.

Heck, last time I went into battle, the snob opponent wanted to make my head into a pumpkin pie! Heck, he even brought 'Cool Whip'! At least he offered me some of the pie he wanted to bake... so I obliged and replaced my head with a grapefruit I had handy. But then he got thirsty and thought my head was like V8: refreshing and fruity, not tomatoey. So I replaced my head a third time -- this time with a huge Ramen Noodle. I thought I was safe from his stomach now... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif But when he asked for my noodle, I had to draw the line. The little bastid began bawling like a little baby, so I cut off his head! I then dried it and shrunk it and put in on my necklace with all my other trophies. Heck, he never even had the courtesy to acknowledge that friggin' necklace in the first place! Serves him right! Now he will hang from it for eternity! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAA! But I did enjoy a good pumpkin pie and a fruity punch! I guess you could say the whole thing was my brainchild, despite being "he who makes trophies of man"!
