Theodotos Baktrios uses Brihentin after faction destroyed?

Saka campaign, 10 years in. Destroyed Baktria early. Theodotos is roaming near Kophen as Elutherio. He and the other FM in the former Baktrian army have Gallic noble cav for body guard. Is this normal?

I have fought many former faction fm as elutherio and I am sure they retained their body guard. Is Baktria unique in this fashion, or do others do this, or is this an anomaly?

Might be a bug. I've never seen anything like this on any destroyed faction. Spawning weird troops (like Hoplites in Egypt) yes, but not changed bodyguards.

Well, all I know is that eleutheroi generals almost always use brihentin regardless of where they're spawned. I don't destroy factions before their family members are all dead except the ones who ran to their last city, but if it isn't causing any other bugs, don't worry about it. It's probably working as designed.

Read something long ago, in a dream within a dream, that eleutheroi FMs either end up like hellenic or gallic mounted generals...

if the former BG didn't have eleutheroi (slave) ownership, the new rebel BG will use the first "general_unit" listed in EDU (with slave ownership)

in EB SP EDU, it was Brihentin

just pretend that all their somtophylakes strategou run away, and he was forced to pay some Galatian mercs to act as his BG
