View Full Version : Lithuania Succession Game
Faction: Lithuania
VH/VH
20 turns per player
7 days to complete those 7 turns (players can request more time if needed, but need to let us know within that first 7 days)
Some kind of writeup at end of turn (from full aar type to short "Invaded Novgorod").
Players Zim/Becker, Ignoramus, Tristan, Cecil XIX
I think we got the settings pretty well hashed out in the previous thread. Individual players are encouraged to set whatever goals they want for their reign. I'll put it on the "long" campaign setting.
I'll start my turn tonight.
Could we get a quick head count for who's still in?

20 turns per player
7 days per turn
So we each get 140 days to play our reigns? :clown:
Of course. I figured this would be a long running game. :clown:

Still in !
Sorry everyone. I will have this done soon, but it might be one more day. I was called into work for the evening...
I apologize again. This is taking a lot longer than I thought, with 1 hour plus per turn of battles (lousy Teutons). I'm eleven turns in. Should I just upload from where I'm at for the next player?

I'd say take your time, there's no hurry..
Thank you.
Status update: Finally nearing the last turn. My one only full stack army went rebel, Poland and the Mongols decided to attack us (despite the former having no border with us they sent two full stack armies) and just to break even I need to get multiple heroic victories per turn.
The good news? It's just about over for the Teutons, who have been by far the biggest threat. I just finally took their best castle (and one of their last settlements) and closed the northern front against them. I plan on keeping them as a weak rump state, although the next player is welcome to destroy them. If I can hold things together against the relatively weak Mongols and still rather distant Poles (neither of whom can currently field armies as superior to ours as the Order) I can start some much needed construction in my last turns before handing things off to the next player.
Done! (whew)
Duke Mydaugas has valiantly led the war against the Teutons these past seasons, nearly destroying them. But new enemies have arisen. The Poles, once wary of the Order's expansionism, have once against become their allies and attacked Lithuania. No doubt they see a chance for expansion of their own in the implosion of the Crusader State. Meanwhile to the south the Mongols have stirred, hoping to once again reach their former glory. The Duke, with an army now consisting mostly of cavalry, holds off the Christian invaders. Meanwhile several of his generals have pushed into Mongol land, planning to break their armies and bring the wealthy southern cities into the Grand Duke's hands. We have allies as well in the brave Rus, who are committed to a campaign of their own against the Mongols, and shockingly the Holy Roman Empire itself has signed an alliance of convenience with Lithuanian, and attacked the Poles from their relatively undefended rear.

Basically I spent the first couple turns thinking a quick victory or two against the Order would cause them to want a treaty so I could build up, the next ten turns surviving against them as I was proven wrong, slowly expanding, and repelling Polish attacks. The final few years have been spent trying to build up somewhat, and creating armies. We have two armies sieging a Mongol town, one mostly militia and archers, and the other with more of a mix including our better infantry (but low on cav after a tough battle against the Mongols). The Grand Duke's army is in the west holding off attacks. It's slowly become almost all cavalry, mostly for the sake of mobility in covering a large territory. We make a modest profit each turn that recently has been going towards military expenditure. Annoyingly our good infantry right now is only produced in a castle to the northwest of our territory, but I started building up some of our other castles.
I'll pm Iggy to see if he's still in (he didn't post in head count...). This weekend I'll also add pics and expand upon my woefully short report.
News: Ignoramus is still in and has the save.
