Playing Britannia as the Norwegians, I decided to see what effect destroying the English would have on the Baron's Alliance. The English were down to a few regions and the Baron's Alliance three.

After taking the last English region I was given the message about the 'end of an era' or whatever. I expected the original English faction, its king and armies to disappear, to be replaced by the Baron's Alliance as the 'new' English with a new king and capital.

In fact it was the Baron's Alliance that disappeared (annoying because I was at peace with them) with their regions being given to the original English faction which now has two kings, the previous King James plus King Garret. I don't know where he came from.

This was not regime change at all.

Puzzling. :help:

That's bizzare. I suppose that the Barons Alliance does become England when the former English faction is destroyed. Though I know little about historical trends and such. Also odd that there should be two kings when the Barons Alliance becomes the new England however. Strange coding stuff I guess. Perhaps CA didn't expect the Barons Alliance to out last England in the campaign. Oh well, at least you have the satisfaction of putting your ally of the Barons Alliance on the English trone in your campaign.
