A new born infant, great-grand son of Pyrrhos, is named Aiakides Aiakides, that's right, Aiakides * 2:inquisitive:.
His father must be real dumb or lazy(although his dossier say he's Intelligent/Charismastic/Vigorous but I doubt that), or so proud of his family that he wants to give his son double chance to sign his glorious name or have read Catch-22...

Aiakides was the name of the founder of the Epirote dynasty.
Almost as funny as Eshmunamash. Don't know if I spelled that correctly.

There is a surfer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_John_Florence) with a similar name structure, they call him John Two!
It wasn't the father, it was the dude at his naming ritual, whatever preedated the priest at the baptising. He knew the boy would take after his father, so he made sure everyone knew he was square.

Read it like "Aiakides of the house of Aiakides", if that bothers you less. It isn't a real last name in our sense anyway.

I just fought a battle against this guy:

(It's even better in my language, since the Swedish word is spelled with a "k" instead of a "c")
Now THAT is a cool name(useing K here aswell^^) that'd be a nice cartoon character to tell children about the birds and bees
"Aiakides of the house of Aiakides" somewhat like Rolf from the house of Rolf from M&B
roman names tend to get somewhat biggus dickus or naughtius maximus like.

I was just about to post this too. Fought a siege for the city in Pannonia w/e it is called and the Eletheuroi general is named Kondomos as well.

Well...I spoke to a guy on the phone today whose name is Skabbib Butt. I'm not sure I'm going to be altogether comfortable asking for him next time I phone up...

Mercenary Cpt. Kondomos - offering protection since 272 bc!
Kondomus Maximus -- Ancient lineup of XXL protection. Hoax or possible reality? We'll never know. Sheepskin doesn't survive the test of time.

:laugh4:
but you got nothing on some old Arab names (yes, used on actual people):
kalb (dog)
ja7sh (male donkey)
zayd ul khayl (increase of horses-you might want to think about that. Muhammad sensibly renamed the guy zayd ul-khayr (increase of good), on coverting).
judhaam: leprosy (a whole tribal area was called that)

Two swedish names that come to mind are:
Inge: None (Male name)
Inga: Plural form of "no one" (Female name)
Both quite common in people over fifty.
An old favourite otherwise is the old writers named "Snorre" (usually specified by refered to as "the older", or "the younger".) It means penis anyhow, a fairly humorus and lighthearted word for it.
But this is fairly offtopic I'm afraid. I'll keep a lookout ingame, so far only the town of "Arse" comes to mind;

A friendly neighbourhood where people actually gives a shit.
Edit: I still can't quite get over that I find it very funny that many romans don't name their kids, just number them: "Eh, you're number two and you get to be number seven."
I've seen up to number ten in game.
