hey everyone,
I understand TWS2 is to have a full multiplayer campaign function and that it will be similar to that which was used in NTW.
My question then is, having missed NTW and with no experience of that multiplayer campaign, how does it work and what is the likelihood of being able to run our now-traditional Throne Room-style campaigns with RP, story threads etc?
Is there anyone here who played NTW and can provide some information?

I have NTW, never bothered checking out the multiplayer facets of it until this thread came up. From what I've quickly seen, it's limited to two players and both have to be online simultaneously, much as if you're fighting an MP battle. Battles themselves can either be autoresolved or fought manually, but so far that's the only tinkering I've been able to come up with. I highly doubt that there's a hotseat feature for more than two factions, unfortunately.
BTW, I have off this entire week so if anyone wants to actually try an MP campaign out with me so we can report on the results, I'd be more than willing. My Steam ID is GeneralHankerchief, same as on the forum.

Now I wish I had NTW so I could try a campaign with you! I just bought a new computer this weekend and I've been playing the TWS2 demo, hence my sudden interest in its hotseat capabilities...
From the looks of it we will at least certainly find enough in it for an RPG like V&V, even if the 'hotseat' capability is sadly limited..
Being online simultaneously as a required rule is high-on-impossible to achieve when we have such different time zones.

Yeah - possible in small numbers but not in large groups. I was hoping their might be a 'pass the book' functionality like we use in hotseats, so that some could play in sequence without others being online at the same time, pause and save and continue when others are there.
I guess we'll have to see what's available when the game is released.

Great news guys, Shogun 2 arrived in the post today! I'll report back when I have tried a multiplayer campaign out :)
EDIT: Already I have found there to be no AA to test my new 2GB 6950 :(

I think it's time we get our own Shogun 2 multiplayer campaigns started. Who's up for it?

hey Cecil I moved your post to this thread instead...
I'll be happy to give it a go once I have my copy and have installed it. This week is tough for me as I have a conference on and I'm out every night...

This week is hell for me as well, after that though I should be okay.
