What will Louis say? Do you THINK about Louis, Strike?!
Louis VI the Fat

Louis is very openminded about these things.
As to Keira, I've always had a massive crush on her too. Such ravishing beauty. As they say, great minds think alike. And nothing is greater than Texas, therefore no minds are greater than ours, and therefore we think more alike than any others. Even in women we share the same taste.
I do think the beauty is waning a bit. She was at her prettiest in her early twenties.
Louis, do you ever wear red cowboy boots and a ten gallon hat for strike? That and nothing else I mean.

That's silly.
He wears a belt and has a riding crop, too.

Sorry Strike old boy, but she is one unattractive woman IMHO.

OH BOY! If I wanted to see something that flat, I could just stare at a blinking wall! ~;)
Sorry Louis, but there is really not much to look at with that gal.

Everyone has their own taste but I don't see how you could call her unattractive. Although one thing I always thought is that her neck is too long... looks kinda weird.
Anyway, Strike can keep her. I'm marrying Inna:

What?! A lot of models have skeletal faces and no shape, I agree. But how you can say that from that picture I have no idea.
Please tell me you're trolling/being overly controversial?
Otherwise, there's a thread stickied here in the Frontroom you might like, and it's not the babe thread... :tongue2:

No need to fight over Inna, there's an endless supply of gorgeous ladies in Romania. ~D
I'm enjoying my country greatly, really proud to be part of it. ~D

Not sure what you mean, and no I am not. I am not judging from that picture, as you can make anything look good with the right angles. I am saying that based on movies I have seen her in and tons of pictures of her I have seen. I am sorry that you disagree with me Rhyf, but I think that she is a pretty ugly, shapeless woman.

Kiera Knightly is very pretty, but also too thin. I would look elsewhere.

And speaking of Romania, it is very high on my list of places to go on leave from Afghanistan. This stems from all of the wonderful scenery in the airport terminal going home last time. Even the grandmothers were hot. Tall brunettes everywhere.

I have to say I partly agree with Vuk on this one - Miss Knightley is skinny to the point of androgyny and has a jaw as square as Chuck Norris. Check out Bend it like Beckham if you want a good example of her manliness.

Pocahontas.
Do you mean the fat little child of history, or the animated fantasy of Disney?

Perhaps you should clarify what you mean by "fat little child of history"? Would it not have been sufficient to say "the historical figure"?

Pardon me, but I am stressing why I find it hard to believe that he does or should find the real Pocahontas attractive. When she first met John Smith, she was a minor (why he shouldn't) and she was also, if I remember correctly, overweight (which is why I doubt he would).
When she grew into an adult woman we have no record of what she looked like until she moved to England at the age of 21 (shortly before she died) and had one portrait painted.

She looks as if she is still on the pudgy side, and the picture is too stylized to tell if she is really attractive or not.
My point is that I think Megas is basing what he said on seeing an animated Disney film.

It just could have been construed differently. As you point out there is very little to establish what she might have looked like, other than 3-4 paintings, all of which are questionable at best and painted in the style of the time (IMHO all paintings at that time look ugly, and their standard for "pudgy" is quite different than the modern one). All of this make your own assertions about her possible appearance just as questionable. I have not heard the assertion that she was "fat" and was likely only "little" by certain English standards.
Here is a quote from John Smith's first encounter with her in 1608:
"Powhatan understanding we detaine certaine Salvages, sent his Daughter, a child of tenne years old: which, not only for feature, countenance, and proportion, much exceedeth any of the rest of his people: but for wit and spirit, the only Nonpareil of his Country."
It certainly seems to imply that she was quite beautiful, at least in his eyes.
Now regarding Megas:
That said, you are certainly correct in saying that it certainly is not by a stylized painitng or by an old vague description that one could say that she would represent his idea of a perfect woman...
I think his point was only to say that he likes native women...and thus Pocahontas as a symbol, as opposed to a particular person. But I could be wrong, that was just my interpretation.

My guess would be that he only based it on her being a native american and him being one, too.
As such I actually found his comment quite funny.

in short, i summarize, after having neither read the quote or the quoted quote, they liked fat people in that time, fat people are beautiful and fat people need loving too!
