Got logged out in the middle of posting. Can anyone help.

Just now I was typing up a rather length response in the Tea Room, and when I tried to preview it I discovered that I had been logged out and I lost the whole post. Can anyone help me understand why that happened so I can prevent it in the future? I was using a library computer, if that helps.

The board auto-logs you due to inactivity sometimes, mainly when you take 15+ minutes to write up a big post. It's a good idea whenever you're planning something larger than a few paragraphs to write it up in a word processor first.

I've suffered similar problems when I've been using someone else's computer, since I don't want my Org details to be remembered anywhere that isn't my own computer.

When the "Remember Me" box isn't ticked, the .Org automatically signs you out after prolonged inactivity, that is to say a period of time where your computer hasn't loaded a page at the forum, whether that is a thread, private message, user profile, previewed post or anything else. :3

When writing something lengthy, ALWAYS do a select all and copy before submitting it.

Toggle the remember me box, even on a public PC. Once you log out it will erase it and ask for it again when you want to log in.
