What happened after Chinese Zodiac 1 (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?127171-Chinese-Zodiac-Mafia-April-slot-1)...

Previously, the Dog and the Snake eliminated other animals from the Chinese Zodiac.
As a result, year of the Dog and year of the Snake came one after the other. Making the Dogs and the Snakes very pleased.

However lowly animals in the other world wasn't too pleased. They felt that Chinese Zodiac calender with only year of the Dog and year of the Snake is inferior to its rival.... 12 ecliptical constellations. To rebuild the once mighty Chinese Zodiac, 12 modern day popular animal stood up and started to plan rebellion against the Dogs and Snakes.

Amongst the encouraging roars two familiar noise was heard. Barking and a rattle of a snake.
The members looked at each other in a gaze of suspicion. And started to question each others real identity.
Indeed the Dog and Snake was amongst the members, trying to turn down this revolution before it gets any larger.

"They are amongst us gents!" someone shouted. "Kill the faulty one and let us restore the honour of the once mighty Zodiac with our bare hands!!!"

So the discussion to lynch the hidden spies has started..
Discussion which can decide the outcome of our world has started..


Looking for 12 players to play each of the new Chinese zodiac council animals.
The system is exactly the same as the previous Chinese Zodiac mafia. Where the leader of the day is the only to decide the outcome of the vote. Others job is to convince him to lynch someone.

To make it slightly easier for the townies, I will shuffle the order of the vote with random org and won't tell anyone the order. Leader of the day will be announced each morning. As soon as he votes the day will end.

There is two mafia who gets 1 kill per night as a team. There is no other town roles.
Towns goal is to eliminate the two mafia, Dog and Snake in disguise. And mafias goal is to eliminate the town.

Now I would like 12 wonderful players and I look forward to starting this game.

After hearing everybody speak, the rat has decided that the cat was the impostor.
Hearing this, cat argued back furiously.

"Fumeow! This is absurd! I demand a democracy! I demand equality and justice!"
Calmly the turtle stood up and replied.

"Democracy isn't always the fair system. In these kind of situation where everyone is on the equal position, what separates us would be something trivial like looks, wits and lack of hatred against the fellow. In democratic method of majority rules, members like sharks, rats, crocodiles, humans, bears etc... Those who eats and those who rules would be disadvantaged. So while it won't be the best, this method where random member amongst us would decide who is to be lynched would be slightly better method then the one that cat proposed"

Everyone in the room went "oo" and nodded in agreement. Even the cat for one moment. Immediately realizing that he is in danger, he decided to gamble on his final move.

This worked wonders on couple of members. Especially the human who was completely melted by it. Pleading the innocence of the cat.

For long they have been mistreated by those who fears their past glory. Today the rats would show that they can mean trouble if they wants to. Sending a clear signal of warning with their eyes burning for revenge.

His body got larger and larger. Bake Neko or the ghost cat came back into the scene of history after over hundreds of years of silence.
Against this was armies of rats. Thousands and millions of rats, ready to greet the fearful ghost with pain and agony.

For a mad animal who joined a club which is planning to tip the world upside down by declaring war on those who rules the world, Pigeon was an pacifist.
He was often ignored and made fun of for his character, but he took it on well, telling him self that it is a necessary casualty to get a bunch of unique and very different animals together.

Whether if they knew this or not remains in a mystery. But the pigeon was chosen as the first casualty.
As soon as he noticed the danger he was in, he went ninja and made him self into thousand of different pigeons... Instead of just plain grey and white, there was red, blue and yellow pigeons as well just for kicks.. but it didn't stop the attacker.

One by one, the pigeon dropped dead. By the time other animals heard what was going on and ran to the scene, it was all over.

All animals got there just around the same time from different direction so the suspect remained unknown. They decided that the threat is far from over and chose the next leader.

They picked a name out of the box and decided the human to be the leader of the day.

The randomised voting system works in our favour to some extent; while we're going to have to rely on in-thread behaviour more, the random aspect does make it tougher for the mafia to kill people and implicate them based on voting order, which is what Pizza/Joooray did to great effect in the last game.

I'd like to hear the input of others too; inactivity will only help the mafia and given that one of the victors last time won by lurking, I won't allow anyone to pass under the radar.

Right now we have a 1 in 5 chance of nailing the snake or dog. But if we keep doing that, it's going to get harder and harder to find post paterns and slip-ups the mafia will hopefully make. I guess random would be OK for another round, but I don't like the low level of discussion it's been generating.

The leader of the day... and the ruler of the world human chose the shark to be lynched.

Perhaps its the destiny of any influential figure, but anything that fellow does is expected to be met with eyes of suspicion and strong disagreement.
"Human, I hope its not the revenge of Jaws" calmly said the Shark. "I thought we've settled that before."
"No shark. Its nothing personal. I just chose you on random...And why would I hate you for the movie WE made?"
"Ok then. Is it because of shark fins? You want to make it in to a soup do you?"

Shark grinned and started to convince other animals.
"This human thinks he has the right to do anything he wants to do to you animals! He wants to lynch me because he wants shark fin soup. Next is going to be bear paw noodles and Tuna can. Kangaroo jerky and Crocodile skin bag. Turtle soup with Rat satay as side dish. Heck it might be you next Horned beetle. Fly far far away bat! While you can. Humans will find you. Eat you. Make a business out of you against your will. We are his slave!"

Human knew he had to be humble in these kind of situation. He had to be extra delicate and careful upon speaking with these animals.
But yet again it was the wise turtle who saved the day.

"I thought we agreed that this method is the best way to do this" he said. "We may all hate the human. But it was we who chose to let him in the council. And once we are in the council we all have equal right to speak up their thoughts. Yes the humans may be what you think he is. But that is not a effective reason to prevent you from getting lynched."

Once again all the animals went "oo" and now they were persuaded to help the human to complete what he decided. To lynch the shark.

Shark was invincible in his fish tank. He was given a fairly large fish tank so he can swim around without any stress. Making him a hard target to kill.
After a discussion they figured it was the best method to break the glass first and getting him out of the water. So the animals evacuated out of the room.

Shark dirtied the water so he was harder to spot. And his fin out the surface.

Facing this challenge, human sat there and thought the best method. He then came up with the best.
Against the massive fish tank, humans got in the room with massive tank.

"Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger! Attack 10, Defense 10, Agility 5! Upon engaging... RUN RUN RUN!"

Large explosion and Shark was thrown out of the water. Barely alive.
Human carefully adjusted the aim and fired the second barrage. This time it wasn't bullet but human shot a Tuna.

"Golden Tuna shot! Its super effective!" shouted the bat.

Indeed it was super effective. Human got over the debt of Jaws, and Tuna managed to pay back the long suffering of his ancestors. Bat managed to see the Tiger Tank and others... Well they got to lynch the guy they wanted to lynch.

They retired to their quarters. Hoping that this is all over.

I am sorry to say that I will not be able to continue playing this game. I arrived in Mexico yesterday as part of a hastily organized trip with a friend and it appears that the internet is very limited at the resort where I am staying. This means I will be inactive from the Org until friday, which mean missing most of the game. For the record, when I signed up I did not even know I would be travelling.

Night 2 Summery

Being one of the smallest around, he didn't expect to be targeted this early.
He flied as fastest as he could, trying to get away from the attacker. But he was locked in the room.
And slowly he was cornered.

"Think you can get away from me?" said the attacker.
He could. Easily in theory. Small and agile Horned Beetle should be able to get past him.
But he sensed a immense pressure. As if theres no escape route.

Brave Horned Beetle made the only choice available. Risk his life and charge to avoid certain death.
And he lost the gamble.

It wasn't until next day that others found the Horned Beetle dead.
They grieved at the loss of brave small warrior. And promised revenge on the killer.

Day 3 Summery

Bear took an fairly democratic approach and asked the players to tell him 2 top suspects.
When he saw that not many have done what he asked to, he roared and picked the turtle to be lynched.

"ROAR! Turtle! You be lynched okay?" he said. Picking the turtle up and preparing to toss him into a pot of boiling water.

"Wait wait!" said the turtle. "So I may not be talking on thread. But on the write up, I'm doing the wise guy role. More so then the human in fact. Imagine the world without me. It would be an disaster."

Bear thought for a minute then decided to disregard his pledge. "Shut up Turtle! Human are smart enough for me."

"Do you know the story of Achilles and the turtle? Its said that Achilles....Meaning the human can never catch up with turtle. Now that seems to be strange as the humans are soo much faster then the turtle. But this makes perfect sense without using silly trick like an hare sleeping in the middle of the race. See the humans are indeed faster then the turtle but...."

The lecture went on and on. For hours the animals sat there listening to the wise word of the Turtle. Nodding and shocked in awe. But eventually the Bear remember that he is in charge and finally threw him in the pot.

"BEAR IS HUNGRY! BEAR WANT TURTLE PIZZA!" he said.

Turtle was crunched into tiny little pieces. Bear no like sharing, He ate the whole thing.

I believe that autolycus was a good choice; there was something off about his accusation of LocalGod (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?134254-Chinese-Zodiac-Mafia-2-The-rise-of-the-new-council.&p=2053290637&viewfull=1#post2053290637), it seemed entirely baseless and somewhat lazy, if I'm honest.

However, I'm not sure what to make of LocalGod himself; he makes this comment (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?134254-Chinese-Zodiac-Mafia-2-The-rise-of-the-new-council.&p=2053289898&viewfull=1#post2053289898) regarding the Subotan lynch, is questioned about it by both Subo and Pizza... and then not only fails to respond, but doesn't make an appearance in-thread from there onwards.

I'm uncertain whether that is simply inactivity or something more, but that's the only suggestion I have currently; there's been very little to interpret otherwise.

LocalGod looked scummy earlier, but has completely dropped off the radar since, don't know if this is lurking behaviour or inactivity.

I remember that I advocated three lynches in the last game and was incorrect on all three counts; however, I'm somewhat cautious about lurkers considering that Joooray won last time by flying completely under my radar with minimal activity.

Day 4 summery

As soon as the judgment was announced, the battle which everyone has dreamed of was to be hosted in this room.
Tuna was to face rat. On papers there is only one winner. Tuna is bigger, stronger. Especially in water, rat doesn't stand a chance. But these kind of battles aren't on paper.

Tuna took a orthodox approach. He enchanted him self and became a flying horned Tuna.

With that terrifying scream of the human, everyone in the room evacuated. Leaving the Tuna and Rat in the highly contaminated room.

Tuna could see that he only had a few minutes to live in this condition. He flew up high and blew a hole in the roof. Getting some fresh air. Then charged at the rat trying to escape.

"You ain't leaving my friend... Not while my fin is moving!"
Tuna continued to charge, not very effective in getting a small target.
While rat kept on dodging, and slowly poisoning the poor chap.

After 10 minutes of a duel, Tuna was back to normal Tuna. And rat was still alive.
"Sucked in!" triumphantly announced the rat, running away from the room.
Weakened Tuna out of the water he loves, took the final and the only option available.
He took a huge hop and swinged his tail as strong as he could.

Clean hit on the rat. He was slammed on a wall. Then Tuna body slammed the rat. Making him quite dead.

Tuna called for help. Which was hesitatingly achieved.
Tuna back in his water tank declared the meeting end and wished everyone good luck.

Night 4 summery

Dark cloud covered Australia.
He only wanted a cool swim. And occasional Wombats, emus or even silly humans entering his creek every now and then.
It was never his intention to do anything more then taking Australias reputation higher.
He definitely didn't volunteer to do a frontal war with the two tyrants of the animal kingdom. If he knew this was going to happen, he wouldn't have crawled out of Australia at all.

But if he were to be attacked, then he was strong enough to defend him self.
Indeed the attacker seemed to be in trouble, facing such a large opponent. With steel hard crocodile skin.

"How should I deal with you now?" said the attacker.
"Heres a suggestion mate. You bite me and I bite you. Its a fair battle. Who ever gives up loses."

Crocodile grinned, thinking that he was being smart.
Obviously his teeth was stronger then that of his enemy.
But the attacker thought for a minute and nodded.

"Okay. I'll take your deal"

He quickly moved and bit the crocodiles tail.

"CRICKEY! OI that hurts mate!!"
Crocodile attempted to bite the opponent but he couldn't reach him.
"Thats not fair!!" cried the crocodile. But he couldn't do anything but scream in agony.

Eventually, animals gathered to find the corpse of crocodile in the morning.
Humans wanted to make a bag out of it while the bear wanted to eat his brains. Kangaroo.... Well he didn't mind giving him a kick to avenge the life lost against this brutal one. But Tuna stopped them all, slapping their heads with his tail. They all agreed that the Kangaroo should be the leader as he havn't had his chance to vote.

Kangaroo stood and sang Australian national Anthem. Before the bear could sing the Canadian national Anthem, he declared the start of the meeting, carefully deciding who to vote for... Knowing this could indeed decide their fate.

This is a very odd statement for you to make.

You state that yourself and one other player are the only remaining townies, which suggests that you believe two of the remaining players are mafia; in that case, the outcome of this lynch is irrelevant even if we lynched one of the remaining two, thus the game will end in mafia victory... I have to wonder though, how do you know that we have failed to lynch any scummers thus far, unless you are one yourself?

Yesterday, I suggested that today's lynch should be levied at either yourself or Double A as you were both next on my list of suspects; what I didn't realise at the time, is that the both of you were the only remaining players who had not controlled the day vote, since I had it on D2, Pizza on D3 and JHT on D4.

Your death meant that Double A came into control of the vote as the sole remaining player who had not previously had the opportunity; stands to reason that a mafioso is now in control of the vote, thus the game is over... he's just toying with us.

I thought they were revealed, that could mean there is only one scum. That's considerably better. This is just a theory, but I think that if I lynch the wrong animal today (or first mafia) and mafia kills tonight, there is a chance that the random voting order will continue. Hopefully a townie would get it, then they would be able to lynch the other player (aka mafia).

I think Secura's scum and likely the only scum left. In a game where only one person gets to vote each day, the 1:1 rule isn't necessarily binding. In my large Buffy game, an outright majority was required for any given scum team to win. She wanted to get one of the two who hadn't had vote control lynched yesterday, in which case a murder last night could have given the vote back to her. Kill her, kill her dead.

This statement would hold more water if I hadn't suggested LocalGod for the lynch yesterday; I suggested Double A/Fluffy for today's lynch.

Furthermore, would I not have had to rely on the numbers game to receive the vote again? Had the two people who hadn't controlled the vote been lynched/killed, it would have resulted in a 25% chance to get the vote control again, against Pizza/JHT/LocalGod.

I don't deal in chances that low, I'm afraid.

Day 5 summery

The Kangaroo pointed straight at the Tuna. Declaring him the witch.
"The Tuna isn't talking too much. He must be guilty!" he said.
"He must be guilty!" echoed the second one in the pocket.

The Tuna was taken out of the fish tank and crammed in a bag.

"I AM ROGER JR!" Shouted the kangaroo and he started to punch the fish in the bag.

Night 5 summery

He felt that his life was threatened.
He hoped that his instinct was incorrect.
But he hurried nonetheless.

Whether if its Dog or Snake. He was strong enough to fight them back. He could take on both if it was necesarry. But years of tyranny told him it wasn't just because of pure strength that those animals have been ruling this planet.

"Gods of old. Heroes of the past. I need your help. Protect your beloved humble animal, who means no harm to others. Protect him from those who threatens his life."

He started singing sacred chant. Hoping to rivive them.

"I am rat" said the first one. "You are bigger then me. And you lynched me. I hate you" he disappeared.
"I hate you too" he said. Then started to rivive the second.
"I am rabbit. You eat me. I hate you"

Come monkey, come sheep. Come cow, come horse, come rooster, come pig. Those animals all refused to help the needing beast.

Now he hoped for someone decent. Tiger or Dragon even.

"I am tiger"said the ghost. "How can I help you."

The dog faced bear and snake got the worse, having to fight dragon.

But bear was bad enough. Dog used his 101 darmesian dog mode, but bear in his Grizzly mode frightened them to death.

"I count 101 dinner candidate. Who wants to go first?"

The dogs ran away.

Dragon and the snake was roar off, showing off their sharp teeth.But dragon obviously came victorious. So the snake fled too.

"Thank you dragon!" said the bear. "You may go now."
"No can do bear" replied the dragon "You are not safe. Not for another few hundred years."

Bear roared to express his laughing, but he roared again when he saw them returning.

"You..."

Group of human girls entered the room, along with Roger Jr fully ready to punch his opponent to death.

"Traitors!" shouted the bear.
"No you are the traitor mate" replied back the Kangaroo.

Round two began.

This time, human faced the dragon and the Kangaroo faced the bear.

"Bring it Kuma"
"Fight on Roger!"
And they started maniacly controlling the PS2 controller.

"Dragon. I say we do the same! I use Jin, you use Alice or something."
"I don't play Tekken. I like playing spitting fire and burning people."
"Okay. What about I spy? Lets go girls!"

Girls held their hands and formed a vertical line and started marching towards the dragon.

"I spy something big!"
"Bear?"
"No not the bear."
"Another clue!"
"Something old!"
"This room!"

Dragon already saw where this was heading.
But couldn't motivate him self to burn those girls.. Dragons are supposed to be friendly to girls.

"Something long forgotten. And can't even be remembered."
"Does it start with a d?"
"Yes"
"Oh I know! It is.... Dracula!"

"Nooo!"
With that Dragon disappeared.

Meanwhile, the bear was having trouble with PS2 controller. The kangaroo had a slight advantage. At least he can press punch and kick seperately, where as bear with his big paw can't do nothing but attempting to throw.

At the end Roger JR completely smashed Kuma.
Which meant his identity as a bear was to be taken away.

"Hey.. wait a second! I'm stroger then you in real life!"
"It doesn't matter. Tekken manual says Tekken battles are battles of honour. Loser loses honour and doesn't deserve to live. There for, you don't deserve to live. Go hang your self, or throw your self in a fire."

The bear did exactly what the Kangaroo told him and the battle was all over.

The humans and Kangaroos were later released from their control and allowed to live as they used to.
Especially as humans were crucial to their well being their attempt of revolution was never punished.

Kangaroo.. Well they weren't allowed to go out side of Australia but they didn't want to anyway.

All the other animals was severely reduced in numbers for what they tried to do.
All the animals swore never to rebel against Dogs and snakes. The ruler of this planet.

Yeah, I had always wondered if he'd lynch me for the lulz; the whole to-do between Double A and I on the final day was just a facade, I wanted to see how people would react and it made the finale more fun.

The trouble with this for the town is that the scums ended up controlling all the murders and half the lynches in the game. Did the town get more than two shots at lynching the scum?

Secura basically figured out who was most likely to get lynch control. You might have had more if not for that and bad luck.

I blew my chance at doing what my original thought was, which was to kill one of the people who sent me suggestions on who to die. I was very close to attacking Double A over that, because it seemed out of character that he'd bother responding to such a request. Since only 3 people responded, I had a good chance at hitting him.

Also, I went after JHT in roleplay form all game but especially hard when it was his turn to pick. He needed to know, both from the context of the roleplay and the fact that I had not killed him on my turn, I didn't think he was scum, but I was hoping the mafia thought I thought he was scum.

Or something. I picked a bad day to be very busy, because I blew my turn big time.

This one was a little tougher because of the random factor. At least in the other game, you could guess what the mafia's strategy was: to WIFOM and let more townies have their turn sooner, or try to get a turn as fast as possible. Since the turns had a specific order, those kinds of analyses were possible.
