Question about the battle interface options

In the battle interface options screen, the bottom box is titled: "unit info". It has 3 selection choices, which are: "Never", "Cards only", and "Always".

I hate to sound like an total dolt, but these controls do not appear to have any function that I have been able to find. I have tried all three selections, and could see that it changed anything in the battle HUD. It appears that the lower HUD section is presently permanently affixed and can not be toggled on and off like it could in previous TW games.

What am I missing here?

I noticed that the "o" key will not toggle the mini map on and off in the battle replays like it will in the actual battle screen, but then I finally discovered a tab in the extreme upper right hand corner to minimize it. I had not seen it before because it had been obscured by my bright yellow on-screen FRAPS frame rate counter numbers.

They display the stats of the unit in a small box upon mouse-over. Look for it in the left-hand corner next time you play.

"Always" makes the box pop when you mouse over the unit. "cards only" makes it come up when you mouse over the unit card. And never.. is never. I've found that sometimes it doesnt come up when i have it set to "always", but changing the setting immediately makes it start displaying in a way I want.
