Submit a screenshot that best captures a moment of fierce action, dramatic explosions, or just a serene and beautiful landscape and that winner could be you!

In order to mark the release of Total War: Shogun 2, The Org is sponsoring this contest to highlight the creativity of our members and see what exciting images they can capture.

So go play some of your favorite games and show us all why a picture is worth a thousand words!

This is the submission thread, so please post your entries below (after taking a couple minutes to read the rules), though please put any screenshots over 800x600 pixels in a spoiler.

Rules:


The contest has now started and will run until April 18, 10 pm Pacific Standard Time. All entries must be made before then.

Screenshots must be your own.

Each member can submit two screenshots (no creating double accounts for more entries).

No photoshopping except for cropping and censor bars to hide personal information, character information from online games, or profanity.

Screenshots can be from any game, but must comply with The Org forum rules (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?45416-The-Guild-FAQ): https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?45416-The-Guild-FAQ

To decide the winner, all entries will be split evenly among several polls, if necessary, for members to vote on. The top 10 screenshots from these polls will be put in one final poll for members to vote on. Husar and I will act as judges in the event of a tie.

All members participating must have at least 10 posts to their credit by the time the contest is over.

No cheating, exploiting the rules, or otherwise interfering with the contest in any way.

The game must be chosen from an online game selling service that allows people to gift games to other peoples (ex Steam), and must cost fifty United States dollars ( 50 USD ) or less before taxes. This service must allow someone living in the United States to gift games and must be completely legal in the United States.

I have one question about the rules, and it's a big one...

In regards to personal/character privacy or profanity, would it be reasonable for someone to photoshop in this case? Specifically censor bars. No cheats, not hacks, no braincells, and no I didn't crash either. Two friends and I playing around in Lock-on v1.1 a few years ago. Clearly the game has some issues with actual physics and collision detection, but it was still fun to play.

Edit - Speed is in knots, not kph. ;)

Whacker, as a LOMAC player myself I must say Im impressed. Ive never been able to get that close to the ground, especially when upside down.

There were a few total aircraft loses leading up to figuring out just how low we could get. The other major fun we had was extremely low, extremely high speed passes on each other while spooling up on the ramps. One second I'm watching my gauges spin up and then BOOOOM, huge sonic boom and a shadow flashes across my cockpit. Those also took a few tries before we figured out just how low we could get and still survive the pass. :)

I wish I could play online, but I dont have the connection.
The only thing I really like doing is either fly around enjoying the view (I know its lame) or dogfighting 1v1 versus a vastly superior aircraft.

I just did a quick conversion, 1320 knots at sea level (giggle SNORT) is a shade over Mach 2. According to physics, given altitude/speed/air density/structural mechanics, both the plane and I should be a fairly chunky liquid.

This one is a few years old and was my favorite screenshot I took for the old KotR campaign here on the .Org, from 2007-2008. Basically, it was the sitting Pope at the time meeting his untimely end... to a band of Religious Fanatics. Just the way the Pope's body is lying face-down to the ground and the way the Fanatics are all surrounding him, not sure what to do next, really got to me. I was giggling for the rest of the battle.

Actually I think it depends on whether or not he is ready to fire. Its that extra split second it takes to move your finger that could be your downfall.

agreed, i mean, from my understanding, in almost all military doctrine it is to have your finger wrapped over or beside the trigger guard when your weapon is raised, mainly to avoid accidental firing if you get spooked and the subsequent awkward moment when the other guy in your section in front of you has a bullet cavity in the back of his head.
but this is a game in which you play as a solo terminator-esque agent rushing through africa hunting down a single man... i highly doubt he follows conventional doctrine!
