View Full Version : Guide for TW:S2
I'm sure I saw somebody posting that there will be an extensive guide (à la the wonderful stuff written by frogbeastegg for MTW and RTW) published for this game somewhere on the .Org, but I can't seem to find it.
Does somebody know more about this? The game is only out for about a few weeks, so I guess it's a bit early to expect a long and complete guide, but I'm sure I read an announcement somewhere.
Note: The announcement wasn't about Peasant Phill's excellent TW : Shogun 2 Absolute beginners guide (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?133375-TW-Shogun-2-Absolute-beginners-guide), which I can highly recommend to all new players, btw.
Anyone has an idea?

You know what Andres I'm sure I heard something on the grapevine about that as well....but a search reveals nothing.
Could it be mere idle gossip and rumour? Or something more substantial?

Hmmm.
Methinks a tease is a-foot... Perpetrated by the Green Machine themselves!
What could possibly give you that idea? ~

What is this nonsense thread? Andres is going to write an TW2S guide? Well if you insist, but please leave out the camels.

Camel Gunners if you please
Ok, I admit. it I'm writing a comprehensive guide based on the tactics from I use in my current game. I didn't want it to come out since it's unfinished.
Want a sneak peek at some of the tips?
Nari Ashigaru marching uphill into a hail of arrows, what's the worst that can happen?
Why specialize all of your settlements when you can just build randomly.
Go ahead and skip the farming researches, it won't bite you later on.
Metsu-who?

Hey I'll help you with this!
- Spend all of your money on light cavalry then charge them head-on into massed spears.
- Use your general like a tank so that he dies early in the battle.
- Leave entire borders of your empire totally unguarded. Your neighbours are trustworthy, right?

Ya bring on a frogbeatsegg guide I need all the help I can get. I'm determined to win as the Mori clan on legendary mode despite several disappointing attempts. On a side note isn't it amazing that most of the threads on all the main forums are dominated by topics discussing strategy and tactics and not complaint and screenshot threads. That's a great indicator of how good this game is. That and my dry sore eyes from staring at my computer screen.

Masters, I am in awe of your wisdom.
Now I know where I have been going wrong - my campaigns keep on going, and going, and going, and it feels like it takes forever for all Japan to recognise my brilliance. I shall faithfully follow your advice in my next game. Victory by turn 20! Banzai!

If there's going to be a frogbeastegg guide, it'll have to be from outstanding quality to beat the excellent advice given in this thread.

I beg to differ with your assertion as if I am one to squander money. I will make sound investments in sake, geisha and fast horses :snobby:

Since when have you started paying for your fun? Id like to see that day! If you think all you have to pay is one coin to the door man on your way out. In the case if you actually remember to do so, you are dead wrong. We will soon have to burn all sake dens in our domain to the ground or we are bancrupted!
