Hello there!~
Does anyone have a similar problem? :help: My kings die at 56 invariably (of course if they are not killed in battle). Whatever you may do to prolong their life (a warmer province, sea climate, etc.) when he turns 56, you may not ask for whom the bell tolls. Is it a glitch or is there any explanation? And remedy?:feedback:

You need to fully patch your game.

Lehesu is correct. Opening the dusty vault of my memory, the dying at 56 bug was introduced in the VI expansion, and fixed with the 2.01 patch (I think). There are two different 2,01 patches actually, one for the Gold edition, and one for the VI expansion, you need to grab the one that matches what you purchased.

The problem is that I have a translated into Russian version of the game so I don't think the original patches will work with it since the cheatcodes don't. I'm afraid I'll have to put up with it the way it is. I'll just have to see to it that the king produces an heir as late as he turns forty. Which rings a bell! Are there any reliable ways to predict the king will have no male heirs when he has no children soon after marriage? I figured out that if two or three daughters are born at first, the son is unlikely to be produced. But how long is it safe enough to wait for an heir? Is the king likely to be childless for twenty of more years and then to have a son at the age of 52? Or is it better to dispose of the king after ??? years of fruitless waiting for the son and get his brother on the throne?

If I recall correctly v2.01 only fixed that problem (dying at 56) and nothing else. It consisted of only a patched Medieval_TW.exe file. You should be able to install it safely if you download the one for MTW Gold, which is just the .exe inside a .zip archive.
