Hi guys. It has been a while, but all your glowing praise has brought me back. I'm a little worried about stability because the IGN, Gamespy, Gamespot, and Gameinformer reviews all complain about stability. I have an intel something or other in my ASUS laptop, and I seem to be running the demo just fine. What do you think, are the complaints legit or just some feature of the professional reviewers?
Thanks,
Azi

I do tend to get occasional CTD's. The game is good enough to make me reload, and most of the time the CTD happens when loading a battle, which means I have a save right before it so I only lose time for restarting the game.

I've found it to be pretty stable, i think it's only crashed once on me so far.

In one big Takeda campaign, didn't crash ONCE. So from that part very good stability.
However, in a Uesugi and Oda campaigns both up to turn 60, crashed on me four times. So it's a mix.

Same here. It has crashed exactly one time and that was just after I said "Wow, this game's never crashed in two weeks." :laugh4:

its only ever crashed for me in multiplayer and it runs smoother than ETW on the same machine.

I only play single player and I've had exactly one crash in 192 hours of game play since Shogun 2 was released. I'm retired, so I do play all day sometimes. My current rig has an Intel I7 processor and GT285 Nvidia graphics card--although I thinking it may be time to step up a notch with one of the newer cards out now.
Aside for the DX10/11 issue---Shogun2, at release, is miles ahead of Empire in polish.

My game never crashed - now it has crashed in the middle of the same battle 4 times.. any suggestions?
I would auto-calc, the the computer is favored

retreat/move army to a different position and try again?
So far 1 crash in campaign, 0 in battles though some of the larger castle defenses I've fought have seemed like they were about to crash when moving too fast zoomed too close. Can't really remember what specifically I was doing to cause that campaign crash.

Thanks!
It is a larger castle and both myself and the computer have close to full stacks with lots of archers... I will try fighting zoomed out and repositioning on the campaign map
Thanks again!

For my part I've found the game nicely stable. It didn't like when I tried to split a fleet with an Admiral for some reason, but I worked around it, and I've been fine ever since.
