I'm not really sure what your on about there, what does the americas have to do with anything?

We use Kingdoms because it is the latest and most stable version of the M2TW engine and it has extra features that we want to use.

I was under the impression that the only new features in Kingdoms was the ability to play specific campaigns for specific regions(such as Americas). So I was wondering whats the point of EB2 for Kingdoms.

Ohh so that was the question. The map is modable to great extents so you don't need Kingdoms for that.

For one thing, EB2 will have permanent stone forts, a feature only available with Kingdoms.

if you want, after EB II is released, you can add America and do a submod for EB II : Aztec invasion :clown:

Think of it this way, mods are fan made expansions for M2TW, where as the Kingdoms campaigns are CA made expansions. The main difference being that CA can add completely new game features and mechanics to the game's engine, while modders have to work within the limitations of it. This is why we use Kingdoms, because along with getting all the bug fixes, CA had added some nice new features that we wanted to use.

Ahh-- this talk about why Kingdoms was used for EB2 leaves me a little dizzy. Ok, here's my say: if bobbin says that KingdomsTW is the best available vehicle for EB2, then it must be right. But one thing more I have to say--if you like what's offered [EB2 on Kingdoms], then take it; but if you tested it and it doesn't please you, then leave it. Take it or leave it. I know Newstone's question was mostly innocent curiosity about the big why, and I suppose the answers satisfied him. Good hunting, guys, in whatever TotalWar mod/s you got: the main point is, ENJOY whatever you have. Hawooh.

Kingdoms has especially one revolutionary improvement over vanilla M2TW: a measure of control over your AI-commanded reinforcements (the feature I miss most in any of the games that don't have it).
