Greetings.

As I've been tasked with managing the content of the gameroom, my primary task is to assist you all in generating content, making it easier for you to use the .org tools at your disposal, and hopefully have an easier time of doing whatever it is that you're doing which makes the gameroom fun and easy to use.

One of the ideas I proposed was to do a little reorganizing of the gameroom itself. The reason given was because we have plenty of stickied threads that have been stickied for a while, some of them seem out of date, obsolete, or were started by people who are no longer active. Much of the content can be consolidated, some of it is redundant, and some of it is no longer necessary.

I've presented my ideas for making changes and will implement those changes. However, because this impacts the gameroom and the people who enjoy it, if I happen to be touching a sticky thread of yours, I'll inform you of what I am changing and why. And if you disagree with the changes, please contact me or other gameroom staff (isseikhaan and GeneralHankerchief) and let them know.

I'm just trying to tidy up the place, streamline it, and update old threads and remove unneeded or outdated material.

Before I make any changes, I'll post them here and give you guys some time to respond if you think it shouldn't be changed. PM me or feel free to post your disagreement here.

Gameroom Assembly Headquarters:

Gameroom Hosting Calendar (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?126800-Gameroom-hosting-calendar-%28moved-to-main-gameroom%29)

The announcement that the calendar has moved has been stickied for a while and is no longer really necessary.

Request permission to unsticky this, Sigurd. Unstuck with permission.

Graphics for Games (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?127252-Graphics-For-Games)

Inactive for a year, and the main artist is no longer active in the gameroom.

Request permission to unsticky this. Unstuck with permission.

New Name for gameroom assembly yard. (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?132671-New-name-for-the-Gameroom-Assembly-Yard)

Last post was 4 months ago, there's really no need for this to still be stickied.

Request permission to unsticky this, Sigurd. Unstuck with permission. The new GAH (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?126785-The-new-Gameroom-Assembly-Headquarters.)

This announcement is still relevant as it explains what the Assembly Headquarters is and its purpose.

Let's keep this.

Gameroom (MAIN):

Stickies which seem to be relevant, useful, and up to date:

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?135814-The-Gameroom-Anniversary-Celebration
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?130384-Gameroom-statistics-revisited
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?107558-Requests-to-Host-Games
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?135531-Gameroom-staff-changes (to expire in maybe a month or so?)
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?126837-Mafia-Hosting-Queue-4.0

Very useful thread, but could probably be combined with other relevant reference material so as to take up less space, possibly updated:

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?110578-READ-THIS-BEFORE-PLAYING-OR-HOSTING-MAFIA-GAMES

Mafia Players Database (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?107056-Mafia-Players-database)

Thread starter is no longer active, and the data contained within should probably be checked for accuracy.

Reason: Many of those names no longer play at the org gameroom or have been inactive for quite some time.

Suggestion: Update this list, and combine with a proposed "Active Mafia Players List" which would include only people who have played a game in the past 6 months.

Mafia Glossary (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?131366-Mafia-Glossary)

This is probably fine as-is, but it could be combined with the Mafia FAQ and synopsis, and Mafia Rules threads which have been popular, to act as a one-stop reference for mafia terminology, links to previous games, summaries of previous games, and the "rules" we've come to live by.

Just a suggestion, because the Glossary rarely gets updated. It and other reference materials should probably be put in the same place for easy reference.

Won't make any changes without support.

Mafia FAQ and synopsis (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?115373-Mafia-FAQ-and-synopsis-of-previous-games)

This awesome thread is pretty much totally out of date. It also contains a lot of redundant material, outdated material, and chit-chat.

I feel this would be a worthy project to be updated, and posted as part of a gameroom reference thread, without the chit-chat, making it a more official thing. I could use some help with that. Beefy, Romanic, others willing to assist?

I won't be able to make any solid effort for a while, but I'm more then willing to help during the summer break
If you want to change my threads for the better, please feel free to do so. I'm not sending any Ninjas :curtain:

Okay, I will make it my personal side project. Although I could probably use some ninjas to help out. I'll put it together in a single reference thread, along with the gameroom rules and read this before posting, etc, and begin updating the material.

I'm fine with helping but what would you want me to do?

I guess that I can generate a list of games, in Beefy's format, starting where Beefy has stopped, but I can't write synopsis and I don't have information such as who was a cop, vigilante etc.

If you can even just give me a list of games in chronological order from where Beefy left off, I'll do synopsis myself. I can read the game and the commentary afterward, and I was in most games played anyway.

Alright, I can do that. Give me some time, I'm working a lot these days, but you'll have a list eventually.

I'm not sure if making a synopsis for every game is necessary. It will take a lot of time and will people really read these?

A synopsis has been made for most of the games up to 2009; it would be a simple matter to write a blurb for the remaining games.

Will they read these? Will they read the rules, or the list of people who do and do not want invitations before sending out invites? Maybe.... maybe not. But, it's there, and it's there for those who do want to read it.
