Nice work!

I'm really tempted to make a Celtic type scutum in response now.

nice sword

does it have the tang inside the handle or did the blade is shallow-joined and just for shows? If it was the former (tang for extra stability), it would be nice to carry it on hunting

How much did this all set you back? I'm talking about man hours spent crafting, shaping and creating it?

The blade took me about 7 days of continuous work... and the wood work took me 2 days... :D

Nice work.

I myself do stuff like this for fun, but I haven't made a sword yet!. Mostly just clothing (and I'm trying to make coin dies) so far.

Seriously, pretty nice work there. Post anything else you make, I'd love to see it.

When the entire Legionary suit is complete, will this be up for display alongside other creations of yours, or is this entirely an independent creation not related to anything else you do?

No! No! No! Not lor...lor....(splutter!) lorica segmentata!

Take it awaaaaaay!

What's the matter with you, Blacksmith? Not talented enough to make chainmail? You're a disgrace!

;)

Seriously, very nice work indeed, well done!

My own talents enabled me to make authentic EB slave equipment - a sackcloth tunic, a wooden club, and a big stone for throwing. Will post pics sometime. ;)

Nice work on the armor.

I've made a few Romani tvnicae, some Greek Chitoniskoi, slings, pretty much stuff to complete a slinger. I just wish accurate wool was cheaper, though.
One day I'd like to make the gear for a Karthadastim Libyan Thureophoros (Proper clothing for it, maybe a tube & yoke, shield, spear, sword, sandals, helmet.)

If you guys are very interested in making stuff like this, Legio XX has a handbook (http://www.larp.com/legioxx/hndbk.html) with a lot of good information about the construction of reenactment gear.
