View Full Version : Mines
Hi guys, can someone please show me how to set mining income to a value that is shown in the building card, because when I make mines in a city it doesnt give a value of 2000 mnai, i know part of it goes to unit upkeep, but when I have very small armies, it also doesnt give the full amount of mnai. Thanks in advance.

It was never intended that mines would give the "full" 2k mnai - instead, it depends on the kind of mine: there are gold mines, silver mines, salt mines etc., and the first, and richest ones, generate about 1800 income.

I'm not agree... if it's write 5000Mnaii it will take to your vault 5000Mnaii not less. I never take look on that but I will observe it and after report the resuts here. :idea2:
If you have settlement details open you will get to see how much mnai building (or upgrading) a mine will give.

The description cards aren´t bound to the actual bonus of the building but instead suggest a general description. That´s why you can´t see the "real" income on them ( maybe it´s not possible to create different cards for each mine without classifying them as different buildings, i can´t explain it... ). But, and this should be quite obvious to everyone, the gold mines would generate more income than silver mines, and both would bring you more profit then salt mines, of course, etc...
Does it really matter what the building description says? You can see the exact amount in the city details screen. I think it depends on the number of actual mines in the region. For example, i think Pella has 3 gold mines. So it makes a large sum of money. Other regions have only 1 or 2 mines and they make less. Of course silver is less again and salt I guess would be less. Again, does it matter what the building description says? Really?
Are you talking about how you think it was back then or about how it works in game? In EB only silver and gold mines bring income through mining and they both bring the same amount of money (600/1500 per resource). Salt is only a trade-good and gold only more worth in trade then silver.
IIRC the team said that in many regions in the antiquity silver was more worth then gold (e.g. Egypt) or about the same.

It's my question too...
I'm interesting in your informations about the numbers of mines in some region.
Can I see in the campaing map how many mines I have in a determinated region?
That will be news to me! :) And It will make sense... Because there are settlements the upgrade mines will cost a lot of money to generate the same Mnaii that we can get in other places...

i just roleplay it that the "income" mines bring comes from taxs so more slave trade more gold and silver being digged out everything pays taxs and it´s good for the economy it´s like building a road everyone benefits but the state only receives the extra taxs thats increased economical activity creates
so the 5.000 it´s the total that the mine produces but that stays in the society wich keeps people happy wich is more valuable then gold (happy people)
