Takeda is my favourite (or is it the colour?) but at expert level I find it tough in the first few years. Hope to learn a smarter way to play as Takeda as I enjoy the tale http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif........................

perhaps the game designer had already assigned Red to Mori - and Mori cannot wear yellow bcz yellow has been assigned to Oda, and Oda cannot wear blue bcz blue has been assigned to Uesugi.

And, Uesugi cannot wear black bcz black has been assigned to Takeda, hehe

Matlz....

I've greatly enjoyed all your stories! One consistency in them all is the inability of the AI to preserve the Daimyo. Despite the last update (oh, so long ago!) Daimyo still engage in suicidal tactics.

But, that takes nothing from your prowess in disposing of them..hehe.

Yes, Shai. It is quite odd to turn all of the remnants of the clan into ronins!

Japanese daimyos tend to have lots of sons, but the game has only listed those who really became a daimyo in history - a huge underestimation.

I think it is pretty common for daimyos to lead a battle (and got killed), just STW gives them too few heirs http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif Actually I guess I use my daimyo as much as AI do. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif Just an AI daimyo still tries to fight a battle even if he has little chance to win. And for those he thinks he can win, he runs at front without too much support of his men (ops).

Yet another huge advantage (I am sure you also know) on the player side is human players can auto-calculate a battle when losing (not hitting ESCape, but the game automatically offers this option when all units were fleeing). Doing this, our taisho can usually stay alive even if he is surrounded by 1000 men...! I recall my Imagawa campaign (war story 2) - In the first battle of Kaga, Imagawa Yoshimoto was beaten from 800+ men to 56 left, and the monks were right on
Imagawa's routing path. Yet through the auto-cal feature (after ordering a complete withdrawal) he saved his life - if it were the AI he would have been stabbed 300 times by the monks http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
