I tried to play Shogun 2 today after some time and I can't set unit detail up above medium. Before, I could run the unit detail at ultra. Is this a patch issue? Dissappearing bodys is for the birds! Anyone know a reason and/or solution to this perdiciment?

From what I understand, you can't change unit size above medium in the options menu. Or is it the unit's graphic options you're talking about?

For now, I can only advise you to check your game's cache file through steam, maybe some file went corrupt or missing.

And try posting in TWCenter, there's a lot more traffic in Shogun's subforum and thus more chance for an answer.

I know shogun 2 like ETW and NTW before it limit the graphics settings you can use based on your graphics card and what the game thinks it can handle.

You can force it to recognize that you have more memory by editing the “gfx_video_memory” line to your preferences.script.txt but that could probably cause some other problems.

The game is not allowing me to increase the unit detail above medium. I had an old graphics card when the game came out and I could turn it up to high, upgraded my graphics card and could turn it up to ultra. Now, when I try to play I can't turn it up above medium. Nothing has changed on my computer. I assume it is a patch issue perhaps? Adjusting DX settings doesn't help either. :/

I am really not up to modifying any files unless I have explicit instructions. I can check the game cache though. Posting on TWC...hmmmm....I have never done that. Actually the amount of traffic there kinda intimidates me! :O But I guess I can give it a try. Thanks for your help fellas! Any more advice would be welcomed! :)
