Hi all,

so I tried out custom battle using the EB Multiplayer link and I did a Seleucid vs Rome battle. I did two battles and for both I used Hellenistic Cataphracts for Sel and Praetorian Cohorts for Rome. Anyway, when I started the battle and engaged the roman infantry, I noticed that when I used the alternate attack for the cataphracts (Alt + Right click), the cataphracts wielded a sword instead of a mace. So, I was wondering, was this an animation error, where the cataphracts are actually using maces but the animation shows a sword, or do Hellenistic cataphracts weild a sword as their secondary attack?

Thanks

Bump

How about somebody try this out in custom battle and see if you get the same result as I do.

Here are a couple of screenies I have of the Hellenic cataphracts engaging the praetorians with spears and then with swords.

Primary attack, spears:
1414

Secondary attack, swords:
1415

Hellenic cataphracts get a macheira as their secondary weapon, so this is as it should be. The Macheira has AP, so there's not much differences with the maces of the eastern cataphracts.

Parthian "Noble Cataphracts" and late bodyguards as well as Grivpanvar wield longswords, much like Celtic heavy cavalry.
