July Screenshot Competition [Archive]

The winner will get his winning screenshot made into a individual EB-signature.

Rules
-One submission per person per month
-Must be from EB
-No picture editing
-Only slight cropping will be allowed (small pictures are ok, just not extreme cropping)
-Must obey forum rules

Suggestions
-Turn off banners
-Turn off arrows and/or de-select your units
-Make sure the cursor, "Paused", and map border aren't showing
-Crop out the UI (though too much cropping may get your pic disqualified)
-No Elephants

Thread will close end of the month.

No, we are not, but we have released many "accidents" in our previews. :)

I think Gustave once 'accidentally' posted in an epic battle scene from an EBII battle. Needless to say it wasn't fair as that post would have won the competition :thumbsup:

And there were plenty of those in the same battle. Yes people, playing MP WILL get you better screens!

To those getting screens in campaign, play with minimal UI, when you take the screen, press pause and then pres F5 F6 and F7 annoying UI will dissapear.

Yes, and in Fraps, uncheck the "include frame rate overlay" option to avoid the yellow numbers. ~;)

That's really the one thing bad about your picture. Well done!

I was going to say, it'd be relatively easy to buff out as it is blue sky after all...you did a good job, both with the submission and the editing.

Tip: Use the F5 and F7 buttons to toggle hiding of the UI (at least if you have 'minimal UI' selected. I don't know if it works with the standard UI).

EDIT: Whoops, Lazy O already said that. This is what happens when you don't read the thread. :sweatdrop:

Initially, yes, but GG2 came back and announced that they were fixed (it was when they still had AP that they weren't to be used). But that doesn't really belong here.

Damn, I've got two really neat pictures and I don't know which one to choose. They're quite similar too, so it would be boring to use both in different contests.

My comments for ambulances and TAXIS were for Taksashila preview for EBII. This is the only reason why I said no-one will remember July screenshot competition.

I really believe there are many great shots here but this month Taksashila preview will win the fans.
