I know this is not really the relevant forum for this, but I'm hoping that it's not just me having issues, (really don't wanna have to take my pc apart).

There have been a couple of mini (silent) updates from what I can tell, & now regardless of how I fire up the game it's freezing my PC to the point I'm having to hard crash it, twice to get it back up & running.

I've cleaned up the HD, run the microsoft millstones, (chkdsk, defrag etc), updated display drivers...All the usual suspects, tried diff. display settings in game...Nada.

The game CTD when the DX11 update came out & I tried DX10, (my card is 10 compliant), but this is a whole new beast.

Hard crashing my PC multiple times feels like torturing kittens, and that's not a good thing.

So anyone else having issues, or am I up to my elbow's in wires & dust all weekend?

Thanks in advance, any help would be really appreciated.

I haven't had any problems with the update but I still having graphics issues. I can't see firing arcs and other battlemap information during daylight attacks. Night attacks look goofy and snow varies in bands.

I am having an odd issue with, when I try to kill the last garrison troop when I have just sent a missionary there, the game crashes. But after a dozen reloads, I find it I can work around it a number of ways.

Then again, this is my first time being a Christian

We all wish you luck, brother

Well bit of a facepalm moment, been so long since it was installed forgot it was there...Had a mod installed, deleted pak, renamed user script verified game cache, and created a new user script. So far everything is running perfectly again.

It was the first release of the all in one realism mod, I'd ignored all info about what to do re steam updates so it wasn't the fault of the mod itself, which until a few days ago was all fine & dandy.

I'd use mods in any particular game as carefully as I would a lover. Great or hell, they may be. I am deficient in my Buddhism in understanding lovers, so surely I would not know mods.

But I will play S2TW more, and learn the path of wisdom.

(I love the quotes the game has built into it.)

About the mod's, the TW realism's are some good sheet, imho they're one of the main factors behind the longevity of RTW, (GO RTW2!!! BLUES SUK)...But hey ho, learned from this mistake.

Don't install it if your going to forget it's there, otherwise the beloved Overlord Microstuff will visit great & unholy vengeance down upon the wickedly inattentive PC.
