Does anyone know how to revert to an older patch in Shogun 2? It worked fine for me before the most recent patch and now I can't play at the graphics setting that I played on before, therefore I am having a tantrum and will no longer play! >:| I was fine with how it played and performed before the most recent patch, had all the mods I wanted and don't care about DLC. Can anyone help?

There's no going back, never.

Should you deinstall/reinstall the thing, Steam will know there's a patch out there to download and won't launch until you update.

With that, is there a way I can stop my game from automatically installing the patch?
Other than turning off my internet connection I mean?

I don't know.

Everytime I switch off auto update HERE (http://mindbendingpuzzles.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-to-run-steam-games-offline.html), the game finds a way to update itself. And it then reverts auto update to "on". It's up to a point where you wonder what's the real use of the on/off switch.

On second thought, unplugging the connexion seems the best course of action. No internet, a offline PC, there's no way the game can know when a patch's available.
In a second time, you'll need another computer for web surfing.

I think I'm on to something.

I really don't like how all game companies now buy into Steam. There are too many variables; things that could go wrong. It sounds like something made in management heaven, not gaming earth.

Just my opinion - RK
