edit:
I owe a credit to Centurio and Maion Maroneios respectively. This video wouldn't be what it is without some of the pictures they've made: Maion's phalangitai under the victory arch in Roma together with epic screenies made by Centurio just had to be included =)

Late Roman Empire (550 onwards) is the best Roman Empire, with the most important reason being that they were all Greeks.

The Late Roman Empire (550 onwards) was inhabited by the people who called themselves Romei, and called so by early 20th century. It was Carl the Great of Franks who invented the word "Greek", so there were no Greeks, but Romei. The word "Byzantine Empire" was invented in 17 century AD, and the Romei called their Empire simply Roman Empire.

You did :p No really, i fell in love with your epic pictures since i first saw them on our forums. I also remember the time when i decided not to take part in one of our internal screenie competition because you've won just by posting one of your glorious pictures there. And i mean it.

Infact, they called themselves 'Rhomaioi', they used Attic Greek as official language, their names ended with -os instead of -us and almost all had Greek ancestors.
