ahem.. I mean of course: Hello!
I've just registered on this TW forum primarily to play some of your mafia/werewolf business and wanted to first tip my hat to you all.
Looks like some epic games have been played and though I doubt I'll be able to sign up for anything until I get back from my holidays in 2 weeks, I hope to find myself in a game with you soon.

lol - thanks for the welcome! ..to the lynch party?
@ Ishmael and Johhog I played 'werewolves' last Xmas in Oz and that was pretty funny but haven't played online yet and am interested as to how well it works without facial tics and hushed whispering to give the game away. I actually looked at mafiascum but I'm a bit of a book cover judger and thought this site was easier on the eye :D From the long list of games it looks like I've come to the right place?
Yeah. This site is nice, and if you want to get more competitive later you can just test MS then. This site is pretty good imo.
You definitely came to the right place.
Here' (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?135994-Mafia-Hosting-Queue-5.0)s the calendar on which you'll find the games that are sheduled.
Most hosts use the Gameroom Assembly Headquarters (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?308-Gameroom-Assembly-Headquarters) nowadays to prepare their games, so you can take a look over there to see what you can expect in the near future.
The Gameroom is celebrating its' 5 year anniversary at the moment. The next large game that will be open for sign-ups is a surprise and I think it'll be really big, so you joined just in time :2thumbsup:

Sounds great Andres, just the variety of genres looks cool and I've really been into text-based role play in the past so I'm sure I can find the perfect flavour to savour...before I get lynched of course ;P Not sure if I'll be back from holiday in time for the anniversary game, but I'll be sure to jump in if there's still space. Thanks all. :)

I've only played mafia/werewolf 'live' once, but it was nowhere near as good as online. Due to the exceptionally limited amounts of private communication, 'live' versions simply cannot have the level of planning and strategy that online versions have. In addition, 'online' versions allow people to actually fabricate evidence (in the form of role PMs, night actions, etc.) which also cannot really be done in a 'live' game. While these things certainly aid the mafia/scum, they also provide a lot more for the town to work off of when trying to analyze the situation. Plus, everything is preserved for posterity in posts, so it is very easy to go back several days and compare what someone was saying in previous phases to what they are saying now.
All in all, I find the online version to be far more strategic and intellectual. Plus, online we regularly run games in the 30-40 person range, and have even approached 80 people. I doubt that ever happens 'live', and if it does it would be pure chaos.

No, I wasn't. Thor, Heimdall or Odin, perhaps, but Loki? No. I would never lie. Nor cheat. No sir, not me. I'm an honest man. And innocent too.
