Not entirely sure if this is possible, but can you relocate your capital (if they exist at all) in the game?

The whole capital thing might be a meaningless concept in Shogun 2, since there aren't anything like distance to capital penalty etc. that existed in previous games. My problem is that sometimes you get your characters imprisoned and, when they return to service, they end up at your home province (capital city, I presume). For factions such as the Date or Shimazu this can be a bit bothersome when you need your agents straight away somewhere in central Japan. Also when new faction members come of age/join the family they sprawn in your home province; it would be much more convenient if you can have them closer to where the action is. So is there any way to choose the location where these characters would sprawn/resprawn in the game? Thanks.

I don't think you can relocate your capital by choice, although I think it happens automatically if you lose your existing capital. It would not be meaningless if you could do it, as the capital provides an extra recruitment slot (that may be why CA disabled the option, as we'd all relocate to smith provinces).

It was a bit of a problem when I was the Ikko, as I was defending Kaga castle as I went east, so the regular armies which besieged the castle mostly burnt the port along the way. Then, when I was being besieged, the trade income would be cut, which was a shocker for finances. I would have loved to be able to move it somewhere else.

What's the point of relocating your capital?

What's the point of relocating your capital?

1) The reappearance of agent closer to the front.
2) The appearance of your generals in a more developed province
3) 1 extra recruitment slot closer to the front

Not having all your trade getting cut off due to frequent sieges! :furious3: Those reasons are an annoyance to me, but no trade income 25% of the time goes way beyond annoyance!

That's a shame. I wasn't thinking about the smiths but I'd definitely like the options of being able to move your capitals rather than not.
