I'll be brutally honest. Such a thing can be made in under 5 minutes. Search for the image, search for an existing button and paste your image onto the existing button. Done.
You can make it have some depth or give it a glass shine, that would make it look better (and make it yours).

Again, no offense but thread did seem a bit a place m'a tu vue. A thread to show of your skills wich are as per your own admission pretty basic.
I'm willing to give you some pointers and all but this thread really belongs in the mead hall. (if even there)

Nothing.

However there are quite few GIMP and Photoshop tutorials on the net and some specifically for modding TW games on .org and TWC, I'd advice you to stry them out. The .bmp format seems to suggest you didn't really use either of those programs, but paint or something. While there are decent alternatives one should try to gradually learn to use a program of at least the complexity of The GIMP or Photoshop. If you pt some time in it, you can really make some stuff of much higher quality.
